Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

10-1-1 puts them at .500 on the season (or 16-19 if you put shootout losses into the loss column because the standings are screwed in the NHL)...

Anyway - they are approximately 8 points out of the 8th seed in the playoffs (Currently Washington) and they are better than Washington overall with the way they have been playing recently. If you look at the stats, one trend you'll see is they are back to beating the dogshit out of everyone they play. Sometimes that doesn't work (the Trashville game) but for the most part, they turned up the physical part of the game in December and the results followed.

If Atkinson is only out a week, you get Letestu back sometime around mid-January and then Anisimov back at the end of Feb.

The next three games are @Arizona @Colorado and @Dallas. Arizona and Colorado both suck and are must win games. Dallas is going to be a challenge, being the 3rd game in 4 days on the road, but if they can win 2 out of 3 they are right on track.

Islanders
Montreal
Bruins
Rangers
Minnesota

as the next 5.
Ouch.

with Toronto and the Jets as the other 2 games before the ASB, i think the Jackets need to win at least 4 of those 7 including friday night because thats a 4 point swing. looking like we are going to be back to 9 points out of a playoff spot going into tomorrow. if we are still around 8-10 points out by the ASB i say tank away! they would pick 7th right now which according to craig button would give them Oliver Kylington. but with whos available i dont see how they pass on Barzal/Zacha/Svechnikov. http://www.tsn.ca/craig-s-list-mcdavid-eichel-still-neck-and-neck-1.177115
