Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Hey JO, any back story to this trade and what kind of player is Ratchuck?
a bigger kris russell. great skater, good offensive player, can pinch in, marginal in the defensive zone, undersized (not as much as russell), seems at times to lack confidence, basically pegged as an ahler for the forseeable future in the phantoms/flyers org with their blue line. hes physically bigger than russell yet still small.

what you should take notice of here is an obvious effort to build from within the franchise in assembling offensive defenecemen and puck moving defencemen.

Oh Gawd, I hope JO isn't watching the FSO feed tonight...they just advocated no-touch icing. HIDE THE FIREARMS!!!111!!1!!!!!!!!111!!! :slappy:
anytime anyone get hurt its brought up. i mean if a player gets a paper cut reading fan mail you hear the no touch icing (or as its being rebranded "automatic icing") being brought up. its one of the most interesting parts of the game, the free skate for the puck, and people are shocked how many goals and scoring chances are created after those foot races.

This sucks...they actually had enough points from the first 10 games to consider it a success, given the road schedule. But now they are pissing that away with crappy home play. Schedule doesn't exactly get easier either, with the 'guins and Ovechkin in DC.

Penguins stole one. Jackets played better the majority of the night. Nash was a force in the offensive zone.

Couple things about the crowd - it was amazing. So loud. But, it was one of the dumbest fucking crowds I've ever heard. If a Jacket was touched, an eruption of boos occurred. Annoying. Learn the rules before you make yourself sound like an idiot!

And it looked to me like Mason had the shootout goal saved. Looked like all he had to do was touch it with his stick. But he just watched it slide in, slowly. Is this correct?

The crowd did get it right on one missed call... sadly, as I post this I forget what that call should have been... I wanted to say interference, but my memory of the play is actually one that was called.

Penguins first goal came on an odd sort of circumstance as well... looked like the ref was all ready to call the Jackets for a penalty (hooking), was pointing, whistle in mouth.. jackets touched up.. no stoppage... next thing you know, the puck is in the net for a shorty.

Certainly not the reason the Jackets lost, just making the post...

Guins played better when they needed to, plain and simple.
