Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

part of that is helped by having your regular lines....part of it is that game (and the Calgary game earlier this past week) served as a wakeup call for these guys I think....

That and Babcock opened up the goaltender job for the playoffs specifically because of this game coming up with the CBJ....
columbus has to check. they didnt check, they got credited with 20some odd hits, most of those were accidental bumping into guys. columbus didnt play their game. the wings looked good, take nothing from them. season series 3-2-1 in favor of the wings.

If 90 points is the benchmark then they just need 12 points in 12 games.

Congratulations to Martin Brodeur for becoming the NHL's all-time leader in wins by a goaltender (552), beating the Blackhawks 3-2 tonight. Marty has been one of my favorite players since he took the Devils within one goal of the Stanley Cup Finals as a rookie in '94 (he won his first cup in '95). Brodeur is also within 4 shutouts of eclipsing Terry Sawchuck's record of 103.

What that means for the Jackets is they have a chance to pull within 3 points of the 'Hawks with a regulation win at Nationwide tomorrow night. Other games of note, EDM is up 1-0 on STL, and VAN leads DAL 1-0, both in the 1st. A Dallas win would put us 1 point behind the Canucks if we get 2 tomorrow.

Also, the Preds got 2 points late last night against LA and the Wild pick up 2 against the Avs tonight.

Plus, I just heard Linda fucking Cohn refer to Dustin Byfuglien as "Bih-fug-lee-en"...where the fuck to these find these morons? Seriously, if you know nothing about hockey and the players, wouldn't you do a little research if it was your job?

Hey, if anyone's going to the game tonight, there's a promotion going on for the Crew's opening game. I believe there are supposed to be a couple players, as well as the MLS cup trophy.

My wife and I will be there for her business helping with the promotion (we'll have a free photo booth there), so feel free to drop by, get pictures taken, and say hi! I think we will be in the main concourse, but don't know exactly where yet.

It was ESPNews, not SportsCenter. I'd just gotten home from the bar and needed to find out quickly what was going on in the sports world.
