Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Our Brule??

What do you think of that JO?

11 points in 32 games and coming of a knee injury?
short story

what edm got was a salary dump to clear space. brule who we all know has potential and never put anything together in columbus. a 21 year old 6th overall pick who didnt find a role.

what the cbj got. a 26 year old coming of a knee injury a guy who has scored 27 goals. top six potential. hell play tough along the boards and go in and battle for pucks, better size and plays like a bull with a good shot. not a great passer or receiver of the puck.

short term i think cbj wins, they are a better team with torres than they are with brule. upgrade.

long term. ? oilers could ream the jackets long term, or brule may never break out. in question.

I hate this part. I wish we could just offer and know right away. :tongue2:

Hopefully the day is ended with Morrison and Redden coming to Columbus to be my neighbors.

What kind of player is Torres? Looks like he can provide a solid 35-40 points when healthy. Had 27/14 a couple years ago.

EDIT; Nevermind, JO is on the ball. Sounds like we're improving. Umberger and Torres should be solid contributors along with whomever we sign in FA.

he was #5 pick in 2000 for the isles.
youll probably read rugged winger in the paper tomorrow
strong lower body, which allows him to battle in the corners and on the wall decent scorer and developing all around game. skating is eh not a finesse player, relies on a power game.
2003 20/14/34 in 80 g
2005 27/14/41 in 82g
2006 15/19/34 in 82 g
07 5/6/11 in 32 g

if he scores 20g and drops 40 pts well be happy. possibly could play opposite of z. they might work well together on opposite wings, z carrying the puck and dishing to a guy letting a few bombs go and willing to fight in the corners/wall and in front of the net.
