High School Columbus Bishop Watterson Eagles

It's ok to not be so sensitive. It's ok to not reply yourself.
How ever you feel about recruiting it’s still against the rules. So when you falsely accuse the team I support of cheating I’m going to call you out on it. You don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t know why you said it in the first place & I don’t know why you continue to try & defend it.

There are 2 starters on Watterson’s team who didn’t come through their feeder school programs. They did however follow their older siblings to Watterson & recruiting had nothing to do with their family’s decisions to send the older siblings to Watterson. Those are facts. You’re wrong in your assertion that Watterson recruits. End of story.

We will just agree to disagree then. There's no point in discussing it further.

Yes, it's all true.

They just have the worse bagman in the history of the world.

From the time I left (right around 01 & 02 teams with Al Washington and Coach Golden) until the last 2 years they have been a sub 500 program. Straight ass by Watterson standards.

They've been recruiting all right..

You sound like a delusional Michigan fan. It's the bagman!

Pretty sure after Golden left he took New Albany and turned them around, is it possible it was the coaching? I know we don't believe in coaching around here at Ohio State and relay on the 5 stars but I don't think that's the case off Cook Road. Maybe I'm wrong - but common sense says - they don't recruit and or they recruit like Justin Frye.

We tried to send our kids to Watterson but they wouldn't let us because we were in Bishop Ready's area. We would need a waiver. And they don't hand those out. Maybe sports is different, I don't know. But the "recruiting' angle seems kind of bullshitty to me.

Exceptions are made for sports. Personal experience and knowledge. I'll even go as far to say the kid I know was actively recruited may or may not have been on the sidelines at Heights tonight. He wasn't recruited for football directly, however. And I know of a younger kid who was asked to go there as well when he was in 3rd grade so he would "be in the system already"....and I want to point out (again) it's hardly a Watterson thing, Newark Catholic does it blatantly and certain public schools that happen to be football powers are known to do it also.

It's whatever. The powers that be at OHSAA don't care so I guess I shouldn't either

Again, I'll let you be the smart guy here. I know my nephew was not recruited - his parents were sending their kids to catholic school (their business - not mine) and whatever school the kids are going to before high school just fed up to Watterson. So.. there..

But, I will say this: I went to Thomas Worthington High School. I was a year behind Demetrius Stanley. I'm sure he had no idea who I was, but everyone knew who he was. Anyway, TWHS was not very diverse. We had Indian kids whose parents I believe were doctors at Ohio State. We had Japanese kids whose parents were imported to work at the Honda plant. And that's mostly it, as far as minorities went. So the rumor was (I never bothered to care about whether it was true) that Stanley (and a few others) were brought in from neighboring communities. No idea how that can be done. But I do remember giving a friend-of-a-friend a ride home once, and we went WAY outside of Worthington. And this kid wasn't on the football team. So I know there are ways to get people in from out of the region.

Anyway, the end.
