Colorado Buffaloes (official thread)

Cool. Now we're kissing Mr. Sanders' ass for the same thing we'd be dogging any other coach for. It took him 3 games to get Paterno treatment.
As I’ve said, I think he’s done a good job considering where they were last year but it’s ridiculous how the media is making Colorado sound like a legit contender for the playoffs. They are still a bad team.

But I blame the sports media for that more than anything. In 2023, mainstream sports media is a like a locker room cancer for following sports. If Deion wasn’t coaching, they’d have some other moronic dog shit narrative they’d be shoving down our throats.

All of this attention is due to Deion's brash, hate him or love him attitude. And it works. He reminds me of a boxer who uses his attitude to sell tickets, but I think it's also smart that Deion's attitude has turned the attention to him, so that the media doesn't go after the kids as hard. He has also brought many more fans to CFB, and to notice CU football in general. I bet an average person on the street didn't know where CU was before Deion arrived there. Is the attention he's getting nauseating to most actual CFB fans? YUP! But I respect him putting a has been program on the map for most in the general public.
What will be amusing, is the delusional fans who think they're program can replicate what Deion has done as far as attention goes. Because there are few like Deion, he's been the same way throughout his playing days. But I don't think any actual CFB fan who's watched the sport for years considers CU a real NC contender. They're a story to draw clicks, and eyes to TVs, because hate him or love him, people watch, and that generates money(tons of it)

There was some talk in this past offseason about Sapp being on Deions staff at CU for 2023, but I believe the problem was he left Miami after his true Junior year and did not graduate. To coach in the NCAA you have to have a undergraduate degree and have a few additional certifications, like basic HS coach level training in first aid and CPR, as well as a background check to make sure you’re not a pedo in some database somewhere, or have any active warrants or on the TSAs “no fly” list.

The media excuses when Oregon wins by 3 TDs+ on Saturday are going to be hilarious.

They want to act like Colorado is some elite team now, but that tone will quickly turn to "people just want to hate!" after their first devastating blowout loss.

Oregon and USC back to back. Let's see how they do in those games.
We really are getting cheated without Hunter playing for CU. I doubt he would have made them win, but he could help shred those PAC defenses enough to make it exciting.

Deion Sanders says Colorado football's success isn't sustainable without him: 'God anointed me for this time'

Deion Sanders has built Colorado football into a national brand but the Buffaloes' success won't be sustainable without him, according to the first-year head coach. Sanders says he has no intentions of leaving Boulder but acknowledged that many high school recruits commit to coaches rather than schools in a recent interview.

"A multitude of kids choose the coach, especially when it's a prominent coach that has had success in their careers," Sanders said in an interview with Taylor Rooks. "I had a parent ask me the other day, 'If you left, do you think what you created is sustainable? I said, 'No. It ain't. I'm not going to lie to you. God anointed me for this time, this season, this era and this moment. He anointed me to coach your son and his son and his son. That's what God has anointed me to do. This is my calling.'"
