It's time to stop thinking of the bowls and future playoffs as the exclusive right of Dixie and LA. If the NFL can play important, championship level games in Green Bay in January, then so can college football.

This was the only positive that a playoff was going to bring, in my opinion, other than that it will be more entertaining to see the games. But I don't think that this system is any more "right" than the game of plinko that we had going.

Play the stupid playoff games at the home stadiums and stop whining about the stupid weather.

Don't rule out Jerry World

This is probably the clubhouse leader simply because it's the biggest facility.
In reality, any city that hosts a Final Four should be in contention for the final - including Detroit.

Unfortunately, alot of this will depend on how the Superbowl in the Meadowlands is executed. If the weather and transportation issues make the game a disaster, your chances are significantly reduced.

Why not build an alliance with another league to get this proposal moving forward? No other leagues complain about the lack of parity, but if you consider it an absolute deal breaker, get the PAC 10 or BIG East to back your decision for a St. Louis/Minneappolis/INDY bowl game.

I'm pretty happy with a committee doing the choosing. It reduces the amount of influence ESPin has on the process, which is a huge plus in my book. The amount of campaigning they did for Alabama getting in the title game last year was beyond ridiculous.

wrong.

with a committee, there are fewer minds to sway than with the current system.

committee will reportedly be 15 members.
hell, you can BUY 15 votes with the money ESPN will make off this thing.

So you are saying all four teams will be from the SEC?

no, but teams like Boise may be heading back to small bowls instead of the big money sites.

Boise has never been top 4 pre-bowls

odds of a committee "selecting" them over big name teams ranked ahead of them is slim at best.

with current system, at least they can get into a high $ BCS bowl.

now? welcome to the Poinsettia Bowl.

If you play the games at a home stadium, there would be a non stop cryfest from the pundits and opposing fans. It has to be on a neutral field.

What the fuck is neutral about USC/Pac 10 team in the Rose Bowl or an SEC team in New Orleans/Miami/Jacksonville/Dallas?????

Sure that's awesome in theory....can you name one of these so called neutral fields? Is it the one in Cali, Texas, Louisiana or Florida?
I'll throw my weather comment earlier to the way side:
Heinz field-yes I now Pitt plays there, but Pitt won't ever be in contention for a NC, nor will any BE team
Meadowlands/wherever the Giants play football.- depending on how SB goes could be good.
Gilette Stadium/Foxborough
Edward Jones Dome

got to be in a dome if it's up north.

these sites will all be determined well in advance of knowing who will be playing in them.

the last thing people want to see is 2 warm weather teams pillow fighting in a snow storm.

It is interesting that there are rumblings that the Selection Committee will do more than selecting the 4 playoff teams. Supposedly will be selecting the teams for the 4 Bowls that are not hosting the semi-finals. And a few people have said that higher ranked small conference champions might get preference there if they don't make the playoffs.

So if Boise goes 11-1/12-1 and miss out on the playoff, they will probably still make some big bowls. Will be interesting if that actually happens.

Yet one of the first thing others want to see is one of those warm weather pillow fighters hauling it up north to play a "cold weather" team in the cold. You know, tit for tat.
