College Football Playoff (2016-2017 Season)

Big 12 commissioner seeks clarity on Ohio State, Washington playoff berths

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby would like some clarity from College Football Playoff officials on the importance of conference championship games and strength of schedule, he told ESPN on Sunday after the selection committee put 11-1 Ohio State at No. 3 in spite of the Buckeyes not winning the Big Ten East Division or their conference title.

Dinich is fine imo and better than a lot of the other morons working there. Bowlsby is a fucking idiot if he cannot see it.

Bob Bowlsby needs to ask for clarity in filling out Form 1040EZ.

I hope so for two reasons:

1. I like to watch good football
2. The Pedsters will be all over the internet whining about how they should've been picked
I like how Franklin took it like a champ and understood, saying both arguments were valid and it could have gone either way. Really beginning to like this guy.

If you want to hear some whining just google 'Bob Bowlsby wants an answer' or maybe 'Big 12 whining again' might yield similar results. He's such a politician, how about you just watch the games. I wish I had the photoshop acumen to replace this kid with bob bowlsby's face.

1. Head to head doesn't really matter.
(e.g., 4 OSU, 5 PSU, 6 UM) --PSU beat OSU, UM beat PSU) reverse order of ranking would make sense if head to head results mattered..

OR OSU beat UM who beat PSU so it should be 4 OSU, 5 UM, 6 PSU. But PSU beat OSU who beat UM so it should be 4 PSU, 5 OSU, 6 UM. But UM beat PSU who beat OSU so it should be 4 UM, 5 PSU, 6 OSU. But OSU beat UM who beat PSU so it should be...

We'll figure this out. Just give me a minute.

I think if Washington beats Bama, they will have to call one hell of a game plan on offense, Browning has to play lights out. When Bama loses, it's because the opposing QB goes off on them and makes plays. If the QB has no success, don't expect the run game to do any damage to that defense. Special teams will be a factor as well. I personally think Washington has a coaching advantage with Peterson who seems to come up with great game plans when given time.

Just when I think our little brothers can't get anymore pathetic, some clown on the Beavis board wrote a letter to Kirby Hocutt trying to keep his flagship out of the playoffs.

I sent this email to Kirby this morning. I'd be interested to hear what other posters think about the upcoming decision.

Kirby-

I hope this email finds you well. As you and the committee make the final decisions on the college football playoff participants today, I wanted to add my "two cents worth" to the discussion. To all but the most loyal die hard fans of a particular team, a conference championship is extremely important. Additionally beating a team head to head indicates that one team is better than the other unless of course the records of the teams are vastly different. With that in mind, Penn State, the Big 10 champion and winner of their game with Ohio State, should be one of the four teams in the playoff.

Your choices today won't please everyone. However, I honestly feel that placing a team that didn't even compete in its conference championship in the playoffs will either lead to a greater push for the inclusion of eight teams or to borrow from the latest presidential election, cultivate additional criticism that the system is rigged.

One last note. If a team from one of the "lesser" conferences has to win their league title to be considered for inclusion in the Cotton Bowl game this year, why shouldn't the same standard be applied to the final four teams?

Thanks and good luck with today's task.

Sincerely,

Alan Swank
