College Football Playoff (2016-2017 Season)

It's hard to envision a scenario where the winner of THE GAME doesn't get in the CFP, so for us it has already begun. Frankly, given that likely scenario I'd prefer to see PoSU battle Wiscy in the B1GCG this year. Why risk our spot by possibly getting upset by Bucky, or risk injury playing an extra game? Of course, winning the B1GCG would guarantee a CFP spot.

Not sure what I'm actually trying to say at this point, to be honest. I just wanna beat TTUN and go to the CFP. That's not too much to ask, is it?

I could see that completely backfiring. Say Ohio State beats tsun barely and looks like crap: no passing game, special teams mistakes. We've all seen that rear its head this season. So, the committee slides us down to 4 and Clemson and UW into 2 and 3.. Ohio State is sitting home while Cheese and Ped are at 5 and 6 and playing in the BTCG. Now assume, the winner curb stomps the loser.

Fast forward to the final committee meeting, and they're sitting at the table while we're coming out of the bathroom with nothing but our dick in our hand. They slide the Cheese-Ped winner into 4 and drop Ohio State out. They get 4 conference champs in the playoff. Shit, we benefited from almost this exact scenario two years ago. And oh yeah, Alvarez is on the fucking committee should Cheese be Big Ten champs. As for Delaney, he gets to brag about 3 different reps in 3 years and some shit about top to bottom quality of the B1G.

Or we could just choose that one thing at a time like this.

Desmond Howard doesn't see how the committee could select a one-loss Ohio State over a two-loss Penn State, because of H2H. Of course he doesn't. :roll1:

when OSU/PSU H2H comes up by the talking heads it is discussed as if they beat us on a neutral field.

night at their house, with them coming off bye, and Bucks coming off a physical road OT night game the week before @Wisc. impt. factor to consider, although I don't think it will matter in the end

Just leaving this here...

SPARTAN FOR A DAY.jpg

I can live with whatever happens to tOSU.

What is insufferable, is the thought of the Pedsters ever getting within an overpriced ticket of an NC playoff game.

If by some horror, they do get there, I can only hope that in the end they are so humiliated in the game that it makes last year's Sparty meltdown look like a coronation.

Worth noting, the cult is so preoccupied with jumping tOSU to get to the big dance, they really do seem to be discounting the necessity of winning the B1G championship. Could guarantee a two-loss team that just lost it's CC isn't going anywhere of significance.

Go Bucks!

(And you, too, Sparty.)

I do think we will get left out if nothing crazy happens. The committee will value the extra game played against #6 or #7 enough along with a conference champ to jump us. I could see the Peds getting dinged for their non-conference schedule though, we will see. The goal of the committee is to always have 4 conference champions and avoid rematches. Meanwhile the college football world will ask for the BCS back when #2 and #3 play at the end of the season and neither get in.

Edit: I think Wisky could jump us too.

Stats ped state game: Total yardage ~ OSU 413 / ped state 276 ie the Buckeyes beat themselves.

Much like Harbaugh whining today, if ped state gets lucky again and beats Wisky next wk and gets left out Franklin can whine as well ...

or they can get the 4th seed and get destroyed by 'bama.

>

Did I mention it's good to be an Ohio State football fan today!

If Wisconsin and OU win, we would have beaten two P5 conference champs. I don't see us being left out. Rather, it will be a discussion between Pac 12 and B1G champ for the 4th seed in my opinion:

1. Bama
2. Us/Clemson
3. Clemson/Us
4. Pac 12/B1G champ

Just depends on how much they value a conference championship. If there was ever a year for a non-champ to get in, this is it.
