College Football Playoff (2016-2017 Season)

If Sparty wins Ohio State controls their own destiny into the playoffs. I don't want Ohio State to have to hope for an at large bid when there might be two conference champions with one loss.
Fair point. Definitely the most assured path so I get that. My perspective from reading the committee's tea leaves is that Ohio State controls their own destiny in 6 days.

Clemson has next best odds to lock up a spot for ACC.
I just do not understand how Clemson is a lock for the CFP. They lost to a pretty average Pittsburgh team at home and have won 6 of their games by 6 points or less. Maybe they will get beat in their conference championship game by Virginia Tech or North Carolina or whomever.

maybe

I'm just guessing based off how the CFP has treated them so far. I agree with everything you are saying about the downside of Clemson's resume. Weak conference and (I think?) the worst loss of all the 1 loss teams.

Maybe I've missed this discussion elsewhere (busy week), but aren't we not exactly rooting for PoSU to lose to Sparty?

Why run the risk of playing one more game, against a physical Wisconsin team with only something to lose and nothing to gain? No doubt that the Bucks wipe the floor in a neutral site, dome game, but even then, it adds nothing. Buckeyes are playing for a #2 spot on Saturday November 26th. In the effort to reach the ultimate goal through the least risky path possible, let Penn State and Wisconsin duel it out- for potentially nothing.

Beat Michigan. That's all I care about this week. :urban2:

Besides, everything else is outside of our control.

No. Not to me. I want the Buckeyes to have another Big Ten championship.

That and you can't rely on the committee for anything.

Also, I believe that Sparty beats the pedsters next week, so it won't matter.

If we beat TTUN I won't really care what happens... We will be in at that point no matter what but I suppose it can't hurt to try and win the big ten out right to get into the playoffs.

I won't lie I'd prefer to not play Wisconsin again... defense is so physical and it's tough to beat someone twice in a year

I think we'd beat Wisky by 3TDs if we saw them again. Playing at Camp Randall at night is a totally different animal than on a neutral field in a dome.

Why the hell is Wisky ranked 5th?? Who have they beat? 2 losses, and ZERO good wins. Someone please tell me.
I pray PSU and Wisconsin dont make it to the playoffs. That would gift Bama a first round win, just like MSU last year.
Neither have the talent to stack up to any of the current top-4

Playoffs
1. Bama
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Washington/Okahoma

Book it!
We NEED Sparty to beat PSU.
Then OSU can beat Wisky for the B10 Title
(For the sake of Playoff embarassent)

Also, no conference should get two teams in.
