What I was wondering. Really hope not. Rose want money, so it depends on whether they think an Ohio state fan base that wanted the playoffs or an Iowa fan base that hasnt been there in decades will buy more t shirts.

I'd love for osu to curb stomp their bowl opponent. And then if Oklahoma shits the bed, there would be a lot of grumbles for 8 team playoffs.

Personally I want Ohio State down here in either Tampa or Orlando (for my admittedly selfish reasons).
I do think the Rose scoops up Ohio State. Indianapolis is easy to show out for, for Iowa fans. Making travel arrangements to Pasadena is quite another feat.

Maybe that was part of the problem. There was something dreary and tired-sounding about "Grind" that was uninspiring. Grind is what I'd think of my job if I worked on an assembly line at General Motors, putting the same tedious widget into the same drab whatzis nine thousand times a day. No joy in it. Certainly, no creativity or individual achievement, except questionable props for grimly enduring. Perhaps the attitude it represented carried over onto the listless, un-energetic play on the field we saw much of this season.

They've had issues in selling out bowl games in the past. Also, the ratings wouldnt be on the same level as an OSU/Stanford matchup, and with such a large alumni and fanbase OSU fanatics drop some serious coin on merchandise.

If it's all going to be about money, then maybe the Rose should just have schools submit bids for participation.
Don't really care much for consolation prizes. Iowa did more than we did this year. They went to the Championship game.
They should get to hold the roses in their teeth.
No sprinkles for wasted talent and opportunity--they don't come around that often. I'm mean-spirited enough to think there should be a penalty for squandering them.

Clemson and Alabama will very likely be 1 and 2 in that order...the issue will be whether MSU or the Sooners will be #3. I'd rather see Sparty at #4 to take on the Tigers...if this was a boxing tournament, MSU vs. the Tide would be a match of body blows and Clemson vs. Oklahoma would showcase a lot of dancing.

Personally, I'd love to see 'Bama crush the living fuck out of Sparty. I hate them both but I hate Sparty WAY more. Mostly for personal reasons as my brother and his dick family moved to E Lansing after being born and bred Buckeyes and switched to the other side. He's a dickwad in real life anyway.
