College Football Playoff (2015-16 Season)

All that road chalk isn't winning

#3 through #7 has a high probability of change

Take care of business on Saturday and OSU has a chance. I'm hoping that realization triggers a stay of execution/Scrooge on Christmas morning kind of lift for the team.
If Oklahoma's QB is cleared (I believe he was concussed last week?), then I can't see Okie St. winning. As bad as it sounds, we kind of need him to not be cleared. Really comes down to that game more than any others. If Oklahoma is 11-1 and conference champions outright, they will be in. You then have Bama, Clemson, and Iowa/MSU. That's 4 right there. Locked and loaded. Maybe an outside shot ND could take Oklahoma's spot, but not OSU.

If the sec myth were alive and well, they'd be #1 right now. They're ahead of a 1 loss Oklahoma and a good, not great undefeated Iowa.
Alabama has no business being ahead of any undefeated power 5 team right now, especially now that their best win has been completely exposed as the frauds that they are. Not conference is so much better this year that 1-loss teams deserve to be ranked ahead of any undefeated Power 5 team. This committee is a bigger joke than the BCS.

Honestly, I hope they're not even thinking about playoffs anymore. Let that weight be lifted.
Just go out and beat the ever living shit out of those bastards up north and their autistic savior. Then we can see where the pieces have fallen and what comes next.

If Oklahoma wins out, their body of work will indeed be better than ours, albeit slightly, beating TCU (#19), Baylor (#7), and Okie State (#11). I think Baylor was #5 when Oklahoma beat them. Our only wins against ranked team will be Michigan and Iowa. For us to get in the playoffs:

Baylor has to lose or really struggle with TCU.
Sparty has to lose to the Pedsters (no way that's happening).
Notre Dame has to lose to Stanford.
We have to beat Iowa fairly convincingly in the B1G CCG if Sparty does lose.

If msu loses and osu wins out over UM and Iowa, there's a 99% chance they are in. ND is literally the only team that could keep them out, and imo they wouldn't. SEC, Oklahoma, and Clemson are in if they win out. The last spot is B1G, Pac 12, or ND. Stanford wouldn't be in over a 12-1 OSU. And even if they are close wins, at UM and neutral vs undefeated Iowa will leapfrog ND with only at Stanford.

Now for the crazy way outside shot for an at-large bid, if Oklahoma wins there is zero chance. It will be SEC*, ACC, and B1G winner. If Oklahoma wins, they are the 4th spot. However, if Oklahoma state wins, I'm not certain if they are ahead if 11-1 osu. ND would also need to lose, and then probably stanford too.

*one crazy scenario is Auburn upsetting Bama and Ole Miss beating miss St. Ole Miss to the SEC and then beats Florida. That would eliminate the SEC.

If the Domers beat Stanford and we beat Iowa and everything stays pat (Clemson #1, Alabama #2, Oklahoma #3) the Domers will get the nod due to their "better loss" and already being four spots ahead of us...the only way we'd jump the Domers after they beat Stanford is if we flat out pounded both Michigan and Iowa.

The SEC is one crazy game away from being eliminated

Bama has to beat both Auburn and Florida. They should handle both but anything can happen.

If Oklahoma and Notre Dame lose it paves the path for the possibility of two B1G teams in the playoffs. The only team in the way would be Oklahoma State.

Before anyone dismisses the thought in the BCS era this would have happened in 11 of the 15 years if there had been a four team playoff.

Stanford isn't getting in over OSU with 2 losses.
Florida has about as much chance of beating Bama as me and 10 guys from my office.
The loser of Sparty-Iowa isn't getting in ahead of OSU. Iowa's schedule is too weak and 2 losses are 2 losses even if Sparty has them.
Oklahoma clinches tonight.

The PAC 12 are out, ND is out, Alabama and Oklahoma are in, the B1G title game winner gets a bid, so the only way the Buckeyes have a shot is if UNC can win the ACC and the committee values our body of work more than the Tar Heels.
