Colin Cowherd (Official Ass Hat)

Haven't played well in their biggest games? Doesn't he think Saturday's game was our biggest game? Is he that clueless about tOSU football?

If Hamby catches that little pass against TX, would he think we played well in that game? Does one or two plays make the difference between if you "played well" or not? I know it can sure make the difference in the outcome of games, but it doesn't define your entire effort in a game.
That's the point. Hamby didn't catch that pass. Ginn dropped two passes. Gonzo dropped a pass. The Game was a big game, and we had the superior team, and still tried fumbling it away. A win means we won, but it doesn't mean we played well.

No, Nightmare, he wouldn't. He recognized OSU beat Mich and still says they didn't play well. (Because of To's and a bad Special Teams day)

To those who listened, didn't you get the wink and nod?

"I can take anyone's schedule and rip it to shreds. LSU. Who have they played... bla bla bla" His point was you can argue whatever side you want, either LSU has the hardest sched. in the nation, or they're over rated.

OSU either folds in big games, or they got a couple bad breaks. Who cares?

No, that's exactly his argument. He's saying that ND is better because they were consistent all year.
Were we inconsistent in some of our big games? yes. Was this because we are not a good team? definitely not. that is the point that he is trying to make. He's saying we have posed as a good team all year, but we aren't because we are inconsistent.

Left out the key disclaimer that Colin insisted on...

IN BIG GAMES

He thinks ND is better in big games, that's all.

he has been doing this all year, this is just the first time it has been aimed at tosu. Do you not remember what he was saying about texas and mack brown before sept 10th. He is a smart radio personality trying to move up in the business.

Our Longhorn friend has nailed this one guys.

Cowherd has stated publicly that he stirs the pot to get ratings. There are few pots he can stir to get more buzz.

We didn't react enough yesterday, so he's going after us again today.

Relax.

Even if this guy believes this nonsense, his opinion is of no importance whatsoever. Just because he makes a lot of money to do what he does, it doesn't mean that what he does should garner him any respect at all. He talks on the radio for a living. There are few people on earth who are of less importance than him. He's a freakin' speck on the wall, as are we all at the end of the day.

We know we played well against Texas, and Texas is an awesome team. We know that we played poorly on offense at Happy Valley, but EVERY team has a bad game on offense or defense here and there. That was a place and time where few teams would have performed well.

Where did ND play on the road that even compares to Happy Valley?

Right.

The point is, we know all of this; but why bother telling him? He doesn't care. He's getting ratings, which is his job.

For my part, I listen to him for a few minutes at a time on occasion. He's amusing in small doses.

Producer: "Colin, things are a little slow today. What can you do to get some more attention for the show?"

Cowherd: "I guess I'll have to say something negative about the Buckeyes. Every asshole in the business knows that all you have to is talk down about tOSU, and most of their fan base starts yelling 'Foul'".

Producer: 'Sounds good, go for it. I'll get some temps to handle the extra phone calls and e-mails."

I used to like him, but lately all he is doing is making fun of people, taking shots at people, and being an ass-head. I wasn't even listening until a friend of mine called and said I had to hear him rant.
Right. So what you're saying is that you used to like him when he made fun of somebody else's team? I imagine you didn't take any issue with his Texas/Vince Young/Big-XII quarterback generalizations back in August or September though? :roll2:

Stop the presses ... a talk radio host is being controversial!!! :tongue2:

Then you must have been listening to a different rant than me, since i heard him re-iterate "BIG GAMES" about 5 times to 5 different callers.

And btw, I heard it from the get go. I think you said your buddy called you before you flipped it on?

Yeah, but right after he started... I missed maybe 2 minutes of it. He was using the Big Games argument to illustrate consistency man, not to tell us how good the teams were. Then he paralled consistency to being a good team and gave his top 5 of USC, Texas, PSU, LSU, and ND and said that they were the most consisitent, so they were his top 5 best teams.
Also, my buddy told me that he picked scUM to beat us this weekend. He proceeded to talk about how horrible of a team that scUM was today. This should be all the indication you need that he thinks we aren't a good team.
