Colin Cowherd (Official Ass Hat)

I've tried to listen to Colin Cowherd, and he turns me off everytime. Once out of every five times he takes a hard-line-if-you-don't-agree-with-me-you're-a-moron stance, I agree with him. So according to him, I'm a moron. His inability to actually debate legitimate sports issues makes him an ass.

This was my initial opinion of Cowherd as well, but after getting used to his act, I really enjoy his show now. I don't get to listen to it everyday like I used to, but I tune him in every chance I get. I love how he talks college football year round.

Anybody watching Cowherd's webcam while he told the story about a program that cheats like no other. He said Barry Switzer told him how this school would go to the lengths of bugging the phones of the opposing team so they could listen in on conversations. He said he wouldn't say the name of the school, but he would put it on a flash card and run it by the webcam quickly.

I kind of saw a short name with a big ol' W towards the end. Makes me think IOWA. Anybody else see it?

Interesting. I'm sure it will be all over youtube shortly.

he did it again. it was very fast and too hard to tell, but i guess it could have been iowa. if i hadn't already been expecting iowa, i wouldn't think it's iowa. he did state, though, that numerous fans of that program have called in.

It said BYU
I was trying to guess (based on hearing this on the radio while driving poin-to-point) and the clue I hinged on was the Switzer Interruptus part of the story as told by Cowherd. Remember he had it that Switzer said something like, "I wouldn't have thought Buh ..." and then stopped himself.

So, it struck me, either that truncated syllable is the start of a nickname, a head coaches first or last name, or a college's actual name.

Then you rattle through your head all the opponents you remember Oklahoma facing in those days.

It is actually end up being a small list of "B" candidates - and BYU was up on my list very early - but dispensed with as they did not play Oklahoma till '94 (and Barry was gone from the Sooners in '89).

Anyway - whoever it is that Switzer purportedly nearly named, it doesn't matter. This is a perfect situation of the pot calling the kettle black - given Switzer's notorious reputation during his tenure as the Sooners head coach.

i'm getting a kick out of colin's "commercial" this morning. it's a teaser for his show today, which will likely be about nfl draft busts. to paraphrase, he states that for every orlando pace, there is a kijana carter and a courtney brown. poor, poor psu.
