Colin Cowherd (Official Ass Hat)

This is pretty funny. I like The M Zone, despite the fact that those guys play for the other team *nudge nudge, wink wink.* It's a funny site, and at least their OSU bashing is usually original and clever.

For those who didn't read the M Zone Collegiate Wonderlic Test, it's here:

http://michiganzone.blogspot.com/2006/03/m-zone-wonderlic-test.html

The OSU joke, shamelessly stolen from that page, is:

If the Ohio State tailback gets $42,000 from a Buckeye booster but the Escalade he wants is $57,000, he should:

a) Buy a different SUV
b) Take a job he doesn't have to show up for from another booster to cover the difference
c) Ask Maurice Clarett to borrow one for him
d) Transfer to an SEC school with more generous boosters

There's another throw-away joke about Maurice Clarett & Marcus Vick, but questions 5 & 9, the Tennessee and Michigan jokes, are the best.

I won't copy & paste the whole test because I wouldn't want Yost to blog about it.

I heard the Wonderlic bit live. He never claimed to have made it up. He just read it. I saw it posted in 3 different places and none of them were that stupid blog site. I knew he didn't make it up when I heard it, but I didn't care because he didn't say "Here's something I just made up...."

PS - Cowherd kicks ass

1. Cowherd is the best sports guy on the radio and perhaps the best regardless of genre. He's quick witted, intelligent, observant, funny, slightly disturbed and well-spoken. All make for great radio.
sometimes, yes. Other times, he just throws out conflicting arguments... sometimes to bait, sometimes because he is foolish (ie when he explained that rookie QBs fail 99% of the time in their first year... so the Cardinals (whose coach must produce this year or get canned) could not draft VY, yet could draft cutler (I guess he's in the top 1% of rookies).

I did a search for this, but this was the closest thing I found. Anyway, Colin Cowherd was funny the other day. He was talking about how people should watch sports for the entertainment, not for the emotions of it. People were calling up with silly stuff to say about it, and then a guy called up who said he was a Michigan football fan. He said that Michigan hasn't been very good lately, so he obviously doesn't watch for the emotions. And Colin Cowherd said something along the lines of, "And they aren't very entertaining, either," and he didn't give the guy a chance to say anything back, he just went to break, or to the next caller, or wherever it is that radio call-in show hosts go when they hang up on a caller.

I would guess he'd say this
However, Jefferson, who called USA Today with Tressel’s ballot Tuesday, said it was a case of miscommunication between him and Tressel. “When it came time to vote on the preseason poll, we voted Texas No. 1 and us No. 3 after talking about it as a staff,” said Jefferson. “When I called in his poll (Tuesday morning), he did not tell me to put Ohio State No. 1. I put that down because we were No. 1 in the preseason poll that came out. I did not have time to get with him (Tuesday) before the press conference. It was an honest mistake on our part. It was not meant as a psychological ploy or attempt to play mind games.”
Not that I buy it.

n a nutshell, on his radio show yesterday, Cowherd - for reasons unknown - urged his listeners to basically launch a DNS attack against a sports site, The Big Lead, for the specific purpose of overwhelming the site and shutting it down (additional info here at Deadspin). Not only did it work but, as of early Friday morning, it was still down.

here is the audio of colin's rant.

essentially, it's this: "i'm colin cowherd. i'm important. i'm so important that if i mention a website, my listeners will go to that site and crash it. that sounds like fun. let's do it. i have nothing against "the big lead," but i don't care. i'm colin cowherd. let's close that blog down."

The Michigan blog site does have some funny shit:

Carr Makes Big Change in Bid to Beat Buckeyes

(from M Zone wire reports) Ann Arbor, MI -- After losing four out of five games to arch-rival Ohio State and their head coach, Jim Tressel, Michigan coach Lloyd Carr has decided to try anything in order to turn the tide as evidenced by the just-released photo on the left.

When asked about his new sideline attire, Carr first swore at this reporter and said he doesn't talk about injuries. After being reminded this was the offseason and I wasn't asking about injuries, Carr called timeout, hoping for a review of this post while demanding two comments be put back on this blog.

When the comments were added back, Penn State fans went into a frenzy, but were relieved that at least they had something to bitch about on their message boards for the next 12 years.

School Picture Day in Ohio

Have to be careful what clothes your kid wears to school in Ohio on picture day.

This is the class picture from Glenville Elementary school. What the photo doesn't show is 5 minutes after the picture was taken, the little Michigan fan was hit in the head with a beer bottle thrown by the principal then spit on by the lunch lady.
