Codec issues?

A lot of the ... videos ... that I've been downloading recently have been showing up as pixel-y green messes. I've got the most recent version of Windows Media Player - anybody have any ideas on how I can fix this? It's not all ... videos. All of my old ... videos ... still work. Please, please help.

Try VLC media player. If the file has video/audio code in it, VLC will (usually) play it. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html You probably want the self-extracting version.

Also you can download g-spot codec identifier. Works nice to tell you what codecs and such that you need, what kind of video it is, etc.

did you try the gspot program?

That would have to be divx or xvid codec.

Yes, I have already d/l those like 5 times each, but still I don't get anything. What program do I use to watch them?

Should just use Media Player. Are you running Win XP?
