Too soon old, too late smart
Rookie mistake. Never leave your job until the Board has ratified your contract. Saw this happen a time or two. For whatever reason, person became Supt of a district, and was out in a month because Board changed their minds. Once, got hired, (by Supt), and when he asked me when I could start, asked him if Board had ratified my contract. He held emergency Board meeting next day, and only item on agenda. OK, so left, but still ended badly. I shoulda known if they handle their business that badly, would be indicative of future dealings....and it played out that way.
