Not 100%, but I believe Frost has been their primary playcaller his whole tenure. Handing off that responsibility (assuming he is) could be a big boost. That and a non-Martinez QB.

Man, I remember back in 2007/2008 Tedford was one of the "hot names" on the coaching carousel. He promptly flamed out at Cal a couple of years later, was out of coaching for a bit, then resurfaced at Fresno St, where he had some success before resigning for health reasons. Maybe he picks back up where he left off. What's old is new again.

Trent Dilfer, Billy Volek, David Carr, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, AJ Feeley, Kyle Boller, & Aaron Rodgers in the span of twelve seasons across three different stops was quite a run.
Recruited Jared Goff too, but was fired before ever getting to coach him.
