Coaching changes: coaches hired and fired, comings and goings

@BigWoof31 that buyout is only a concern if it's a one way street....if both parties feel it is time to move on then it's nothing. Then again like you allude to, the ball is completely in Richt's court.

Is Jacob Eason going to be an EE?

Despite the struggles this season and last (the Gurley situation/suspension probably aged Richt 5 years), he's too proud and likely won't resign. All indications is that this is going to be the last job he ever has and that if he left, he'll likely just relax and be a grandpa. He's made over 45 million in 15 years, no need to continue to push it.

I do believe he'll stay (especially if he wins out beating AU, Tech and the bowl game) and I want him to stay.
I also believe Eason will be on Campus in January.

It ain't gonna change. Riley is what he is. The downward spiral just went faster than expected.

I think Nebraska was down their starting quarterback and running back for Purdue, and their current WR talent is sub-Wisconsin or Minnesota. It's a bad situation in Nebraska but he needs year 2. Obviously the admin have different expectations than the fans or they wouldn't have ran to Corvalis for a replacement.

I don't think Riley is the answer, but he is their current attempt. Maybe there's more Rodgers brothers down in Texas he can recruit.

There was no reason whatsoever to lose to Purdue. None.
Riley's hire was a decision made by Eichorst and Pearlman without anyone else's input. Those two chose VERY poorly.

Source: Major Georgia boosters have lost faith in Mark Richt
By Bruce Feldman

After another blowout loss -- this one a 27-3 thumping at the hands of Florida and its first-year head coach Jim McElwain -- the support for longtime Georgia head coach Mark Richt has eroded significantly among UGA power brokers, a source told FOX Sports on Monday.

There had been some chatter and media speculation about Richt’s future with the Bulldogs last winter, but the source said this is now at a different level. Some of Georgia’s big-dog boosters are asking questions and talking about potentially moving on from Richt unlike ever before in his tenure.

The Bulldogs are 5-3, but have dropped three of their past four. Two of those losses, against the Gators in Jacksonville and against Alabama in Athens, came by a combined score of 65-13. Their remaining two SEC games are against Kentucky and Auburn -- teams with a combined 3-8 league record. After that UGA faces Ga. Southern and 3-6 Georgia Tech. Even if Richt finishes the regular season at 9-3, he still probably won’t be able to get back some of the support that he’s lost there. At this point, the Bulldogs’ best victory this season is a 9-6 win in Athens over a Missouri team that is 1-3 in SEC play.

Cont'd ...
