The Tribe desperately needs huge seasons from Clev, Carrasco and Bieber. Trading away two starters that had logged a ton of innings over the last several seasons within a span of six months and not signing any free agents to help the rotation - now that is the Dolan Way to a T. If Clev or the other two key starters miss significant time, this team could well finish below .500.

you do know about the partially torn meniscus… this is not a good start

Edit: I guess 8 weeks max is not that bad along with keeping his arm in pretty good shape. We probably will lose the first week + of the regular season due to weather anyhow so we shall be fine:wink:

Except on of those starters basically didn't contribute at all last year, and the guy who got traded went on to pitch like ass. I get your point, but Clevinger missed 6 weeks or so and carrasco missed half the season... And they won 93 games. (Lindor and kipnis missed the first month or so, and Ramirez the last month, which was finally a bridge too far... And that doesn't get into bullpen/OF games lost)

But, healthy they have more than enough dudes. How they keep developing pitchers, I have no idea.

Personally I'm much more worried about the bullpen and this 3 batter minimum shit. My assumption is the reason they have 359 outfielders right now is they are gonna come out with a potential platoon in all 3 spots, all this is gonna do (with the 26th roster spot) is replace pitching changes with pinch hitters.

Last season's win total was padded by beating an awful Tigers team at a historic rate which wont be matched. Plus the guys who were new starters last year now are no longer new - I would say that is going to he more bad than good for Cleveland. You are right that the 3-batter minimum is bad for Tito - he loves niche relievers like Cimber, who is beyond bad against lefties and will struggle mightily when forced to throw an entire inning.

Well, I don't think the Twins are going to win 100 games again... maybe the White Sox will be better, they added stuff.. The Royals don't have enough dudes and I think you're really overestimating how shitty the Tigers can be. :lol:

All that said, I don't think the Indians win the division without a lot of things going right (and the Twins having a few things go wrong), but, I don't see a net loss in production personnel wise over last year if they're healthy. I thought Bieber would get figured out last year. Whoops. :lol: There are enough dudes there to win, but I don't know if there's enough dudes there to get deep enough in enough games with so much bullpen uncertainty. And to be honest, lots of teams are wondering the same thing (I'm looking at you defending WS champs), I imagine, and of course you get the games back by exploiting them. Who knows, its gonna get weird but Tito's penchant for throwing the best relievers in the highest leverage situations is going to get more pronounced I think. Overall though, I don't see how this helps KC or Det.

The Tigers won 1 game vs Cleveland last season. It is baseball, where the games are often unpredictable, so odds are that they will win at least 3-4 (and maybe more) out of 19 games this season, even assuming the Tigers are terrible again. 1-18 between two teams in a single MLB season is an anomaly.

Well, they can't go 8-11 against KC again either, and you need to do better than 8-12 interleague, but the NL east was a tough draw... I mean you can play games like that all you want. I mean, they look about the same to me as last year is my point, if they win 89 instead of 93, I'm not gonna be, "Oh, I was WAAAYYY off" -- and I feel like if they are healthier, that would help a lot. See what the rule changes end up doing, its gonna be weird.

GOODYEAR, Arizona (AP) — Cleveland Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco felt discomfort in his right leg during a spring training workout this week and is undergoing imaging tests.

Carrasco, who made an inspiring comeback last season after being diagnosed with leukemia, is getting an MRI. The Indians said he will not work out Thursday and the team plans to provide an update on his status Friday.
