Cleveland There’s Always Next Years (2021 Season)

No you're right. Lindor was mediocre at best offensively last year.

Pitching definitely carried the load. IDK how sustainable them doing the same thing again is in a regular length season however.

Well, right, they need someone (or 2 or more) to really kind of break out offensively, obviously Naylor is one of those people you hope will, I don't see any reason to believe it would be Bauers or Gamel.. I mean, its just not gonna be Gamel. I mean Amed Rosario is a lot better than last years OF slash.

Yea Gamel has not been decent since he was in Seattle in 17/18. Bauers is pretty much at the point where I see no hope for him. Guys logged over 800 MLB ABs and just seems to be getting worse as that number gets higher. Doubtful they bring anyone up anytime soon though so he will keep getting trotted out there to be a near automatic out

Jordan Luplow leads the team with 10 RBI. He hasn't even started a lot of games, due to being platooned and facing mostly LHP. Seems to be the consensus among the Bally Sports crew that Luplow deserves a shot at being an every day player.

The great thing about the lack of offense, especially the carousel in CF, is seeing what Tyler Naquin is doing (which the advanced stats suggest he's even been a bit unlucky). It's heartwarming to know that he and Ben Gamel have the same $1.5M salary. The FO simply made the decision to part ways with Naquin. Normally, I could understand the thinking, but given the uncertainty in the OF it's amazing to me that Cleveland didn't make an attempt to sign him to a better MiLB deal than what he got (and they gave to Gamel).

Naquin could not hit squat when he played for the Indians. I would like to know how many of the HR's JV has hit this season have come at Cincinnati versus the road. Balls just fly out of that ballpark. If he got a low fastball in his wheelhouse that was the only pitch he could hit when he was in Cleveland. Pitchers had figured him out in the AL. The fact that he could not hit AL pitching and the fact that he cannot stay healthy are the reasons he is now in Cincinnati and Gamel is now at the alternate site. He is not with the big-league team.
