Cleveland There’s Always Next Years (2021 Season)

On the bright side, Bryan Shaw actually being halfway decent this season makes him a very viable trade chip. Lots of teams vying for the playoffs are looking for another bullpen arm. Anytime you can get rid of Bryan Shaw and pick up a prospect in the process, you have to do it.

I cannot think of many teams who want relief pitchers who give up 2 run homers in the eighth inning to probably cost their team a win. Granted Shaw has been pretty good most of the season but lately he has faltered.

No, I just view the trade for what it is. They shipped off a guy who, while playing well, wasn't going to be the difference between making a run or continuing to slip behind the field. They get to take an extended look at a few younger guys that were being blocked (Owen Miller, Andres Gimenez, Gabriel Arias) in the process and determine if any of them fit the club's future plans. They also get a lottery ticket at a position they've proven quite capable of developing. If Pilkington pans out or not, whatever.

I’m sure you homers would have thought it was a perfect trade if they got $19.95 and a case of turtle wax in return…

There's a lot of cool shit to be done with a case of turtle wax buddy.

And, I mean if you're gonna have a car on the homepage of your website.... by all means...
