This is not on Sizemore either. The guy gave the Indians everything he could, but his body is just broken. Yet GM Chris Antonetti decided it was a great idea to sign him as ?Plan A? in the outfield, give him $5 million that he wouldn?t have sniffed anywhere else, and did so IN OCTOBER. It is not like he had any other suitors who were offering more than incentive laden one-year deals. The prudent thing to do would have been to wait until January or February and then make a decision on Grady. Trust me, he was still going to be out there and if he left, so what. It has been proven that he wasn?t going to be ready.
I'm seriously hoping they lose every game from here on out. Maybe then it will be too [censored]ing hard to justify keeping the kangaroo court running this team around any longer. I have zero faith in Antonetti to turn this team around. None. I had hope when he took over for Shapiro that maybe he'd get things going in the right direction. Not anymore. Stupid moves, and non-moves are all we've seen. He's just another in a long line of inbred, [Mark May]-slinging, baboons running Cleveland sports franchises.buckeyemania11;2198305; said:Make it 8 losses in a row
3-1 loss today
they really suck

His managerial career has seen him saddled with shit players in two of the worst run franchises in baseball. If he ever got a decent team, he might do pretty well. Ain't happening here, though...
I think he's gone soon. Problem is, the clowns responsible for this skid mark of a roster will be the ones letting him go. Dolan needs to look up accountability in the dictionary and apply it to Shapiro and Antonetti. They're the ones that have this organization such a [censored]ing mess. They should both be shown the door, as well.Zippercat;2198413; said:Would not at all be surprised to see Sandy Alomar named Acting Manager before gametime on Friday. Shapiro and Antoinetti would see that as their only chance to get any walk up crowd with the Yankers in town for the only time this season.

In my opinion, he is talking like a guy who wants out of this job and this organization. Really, can you blame him?
Three years ago, he was sold a bill off good by Mark Shapiro and Chris Antonetti about how deep the farm system was and how they would build from within, pointing towards 2012 and 2013 as years in which this team would spike and contend. Instead, Antonetti dealt his two best pitching prospects for a glorified fourth starter, was told a broken down Grady Sizemore would be the answer to his outfield problems, was then given a backup plan of a Shelley Duncan/Johnny Damon platoon in left (I was told that he was completely against the Damon signing to begin with), was given two all-field, no-hit corner infielders to work with, and was left with a starting rotation that had zero depth.
Talk about no margin for error.
Oh, and all of those top prospects Acta was counting on? Well, lets see their top 10 from 2010 and where they are now.
Matt LaPorta has been a complete bust. Nick Weglarz can?t stay healthy and can?t get out of AA. Alex White has been traded. Lonnie Chisenhall broke his forearm. Hector Rondon has needed arm surgery twice. Nick Hagadone showed two good months followed by two bad months before being demoted and breaking his hand simultaneously. Carlos Carrasco missed this entire season after his own Tommy John surgery. Lastly you can?t forget Jason Knapp, Baseball America?s #4 Tribe prospect in 2010, who was just released.
Sure, he has seen nice things from Carlos Santana, Michael Brantley, and Jason Kipnis in the past season and a half, but the organizational cupboard is bare and there is nothing coming for another couple of years. By then, Manny will be gone. He knows it. He is a smart guy. He is sitting in a dead end job with a boss who has shown in the last two years that he may be in way over his head and has an owner who won?t spend to improve the team while being despised by the fans. Don?t forget, his bench coach is a ready made replacement for him who is a Tribe legend/fan favorite (Sandy Alomar Jr.). Don?t think that doesn?t count when you consider how the shrinking fan base aches for anything mid to late 90′s Tribe related.
If Acta does somehow make it through, he will be a lame duck manager in 2013 searching for a contract extension. Does that sound like an appealing job to you?
Manny has been brought to this, going public with his frustrations while trying to stay the course and keep his team together at the same time. It is a tough task. Losing seems to breed more losing, and the bleeding doesn?t seem like it is going to stop any time soon. The Indians have lost 21 of 25 and are just two and a half games from having the worst record in the American League.
They?ve lost eight straight and get the New York Yankees next.
This season cannot end quick enough.
The Indians, resigned to the idea that they won't be able to sign star outfielder Shin-Soo Choo to a contract extension, will listen again to trade offers for Choo this winter.
Indians general manager Chris Antonetti said they have tried to extend Choo "multiple times'' over the past few years, to no avail. Antonetti was asked how much reception he's gotten to the possibility of a multiyear deal, and the GM answered candidly, "None.''
But Antonetti also pointed out that a trade this winter isn't the only possible outcome, as they could also trade him at the deadline next July or let him leave as a free agent after next season and receive draft choices after making a qualifying offer, which Antonetti indicated they will surely make.
The Pirates, Dodgers and Rangers are among teams connected to Choo, a free agent after the 2013 season, at this year's deadline. The Pirates were said unwilling to part with either of their top two pitching prospects, Gerrit Cole or Jameson Taillon.
Nonetheless, Choo's trade value should be fairly high based on him being a five-tool player. Choo, 30, has 15 home runs, 49 RBI and a .286 batting average this year, a comeback season of sorts after 2011, his one subpar season
