Cleveland Indians (official 2012 season)

carlos santana needs moved down in the order. of course, there is nobody hitting behind him worth a damn. basically, if cleveland's top 3 in the lineup don't do something, cleveland doesn't score. santana was at his best when he had healthy hafner and cabrera around him in the lineup.

they probably should have let him play in the minors for a few more games to try and get him back on track, but they need him in the lineup too much.
While I agree with you, especially with regards to bringing him up too soon, I also think moving him down in the order might help him, I guess the question is how far do you move it down because after Brantley we don't have anything that is a stick. I guess seeing Santana strikeout is as good as seeing any of the other guys beneath him with the exception of Brantley striking out.

Sending him back to Columbus now might help but also might devastate him and I don't know who else we could bring up to fill in as a backup catcher.

Then again, maybe the Indians should send Santana to Columbus since the Clippers need a catcher or two:)

The Cleveland Indians designated Columbus catcher Luke Carlin for assignment today to make 40-man roster room for newly acquired relief pitcher Esmil Rogers.

Rogers, 26, came to Cleveland in a cash deal from the Colorado Rockies. He was 0-2 with an 8.06 earned run average in 23 games for Cololrado this season.

The Clippers now will need another catcher. Michel Hernandez likely will return to the team from double-A Akron for the trip to Gwinnett on Thursday. Carlin hit a two-run home run in his last at-bat today in a 13-6 loss to Charlotte.

From Indians.com:

"Rogers, 26, has an 8.06 ERA in 23 appearances for Colorado this season. Across 25 2/3 innings, the righty has 29 strikeouts against 18 walks with a 2.10 WHIP. Over the past three seasons with the Rockies, Rogers has posted a 6.82 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP in 69 games, including 21 starts."

A 6.82 over 3 years??? :slappy: Say hello to 2012 Sipp v2.0. The only thing funnier is if they send Sipp down to make room for his new clone.

LaBusta sent back to Columbus to make room for Rogers. Labusta unable to get at bats even though Pronk is on DL, Kotchman is barely hitting .225 and LF is a total black hole when batting. Gotta wonder if his Tribe "career" is about over......

If he can't get ABs on this roster, it's over. AAAA 4-life.

AAAA 4-life--yup
on a brighter note, the guy we got from the Rockies did not look too bad last night. Maybe it was the Colorado air that was holding him back.

Well it was one outing in a zero pressure situation  But he did look good, maybe if he only throws an inning here and there he'll be fine...he bombed as a starter mostly in the CO, but he could be a 6th or 7th inning guy maybe, which we still need.

As for LaSucka, yeah, I was surprised to see him go down...especially with gas can Sipp pitching like he is...of course there will soon be a pitcher sent down when Hannahan is ready to come back, but that basically means the team decided to keep dead-armed relievers up for a couple of more days and go with 3 off the bench instead of keeping LaPorta up...if that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what can.

Pitcher's duel today, I see. Glad to see we can get Votto out :shake:
I don't know why the Indians even pitch to Votto . They should pitch to him like teams pitched to Hafner back in the day. I also don't understand why Accardo is still in Cleveland. At least Sipp throws the ball left-handed when it leaves the yard.

Dusty Baker versus Derek Lowe? Are you [Mark May]ting me? Other series have bad blood that goes back 50, 60, 70 years plus, and we get Baker versus Lowe? :slappy:
I guess they won't be having a beer together after the game today. Speaking of beer, Tomlin has turned into a softball beer league pitcher:(

Tomlin is one of those guys that will always have outings like this. If he isn't hitting corners, he is getting shelled. Pretty much "either or" with him. Ideally he would be a 5th starter because of it.
