i will jizz in my pants if laporta and sizemore can come back and play out of their minds.......so i probably wont be jizzing then
Sizemore came out with his hair on fire last year, then fell off sharply after about a week. Physically, he just doesn't have it anymore. I still say he injures himself warming up for his first game.

My prediction.

SOLD!

And, I point out yet again... that at least he'll suck RIGHT HANDED. (I really have no idea what his vs. Lefties stats are but I'm just sick and tired of any halfway decent leftie shutting this team down like a light switch. Kotchman is just fucking dead weight at this point, I had no problems going to get him, and he is a good defender, but, time to move on.

(Ok, he sucks against lefties... fine.. .but at least .211 for his career is above the mendoza line...)

Seriously, though, for all LaPorta's MANY shortcomings... at least when he gives away at bats there's a hack or 2 in it. Kotchman just takes terrible swings... really the only upside I can think of is usually his excuse-me-I-was swinging-like-a-6-year-old-girl-playing-T-Ball nubbers usually aren't hit hard enough to turn a double play on. So, he's got that going for him. Even his dinger the other day was a downward chop "Oh, I can't believe he hung that" on the outside corner that most people hit the other way, but, somehow he pulled it and got enough backspin to get it out. Just bizarre.

Anyway, presumably they've been working on something with LaPorta so, maybe they've patched one of the many holes in his swing or adjusted it enough that maybe he can be effective until pitchers figure it out. Who knows. To be 100% honest, I always felt like if he could anticipate a bit more, he could hurt people. There's a book on getting him out, and if he can either jump on (or lay off) the times guys jam him down and in or climb the ladder, he'd be better off. Maybe they should fly Albert Belle in and give him a lesson in both Road rage and film study. He could use a bit of both, I think.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I agree.

I'm just slightly miffed that we're getting excited about a potential .700 OPS from the guy we traded our fat Cy Young Award winner for.

Well, and here's the thing... he's still young, he can still learn... I don't expect better, but the reality is we're problaby gonna get .700 OPS or better. So, the reality is, I'll take .700 and he's likely not going to do worse than that. Shit... if he goes .260 .325 .455 it's like christmas morning compared to what we've got now.

Problem is I am worried he is going to hit .235/.285/.395 and also kick the ball around the infield...that would be typical for Cleveland...and LaBusta.

All season...he can at least play defense. Typical Cleveland will have LaPorta hitting 10-15 points over what Krotchrot did, while also committing 2-3x the errors and/or throws he should have picked that sail into the dugout. The end result would be worse overall. Plus...did you see LaPorta last year?

I guess that's a subjective thing, but he's 27. If the light is going to go on at the MLB level, it usually does by this point. Now, as with everything, there are outliers...and I suppose it's possible LaBusta is one...but I think that's pretty slim chance. We thought we were getting a .280-.350-.500, 35-100 guy, now I'll be happy with .250-15-60.
