Cleveland Indians (2019 Thread of Indifference)

Schedules for the final nine games:

Oakland (92-61, 2 game lead for WC1)
3 games vs. TEX
2 games at LAA
4 games at SEA

Cleveland (90-63, 2 GB of WC1, tied for WC2)
3 games vs. PHI
3 games at CWS
3 games at WAS

Tampa Bay (90-63, 2 GB of WC1, tied for WC2)
4 games vs. BOS
2 games vs. NYY
3 games at TOR

VERY interesting because not one of the teams any of us are yet to play involve a team with anything to gain.. not one with a hint of playoff aspiration or difference (NYY)... hmmm
so it comes down to focus... which of the Oakland, Cleveland, Tamp Bay... are the most focused

Ehhh, this isn't exactly true. Philadelphia is still fighting for a NL wild card spot (4 GB of the second spot, as of today), the Nationals hold a precarious one game lead over the Brewers for the top wild card spot and a two game lead over the Cubs for the second spot, and the Yankees, despite winning the AL East yesterday, are only a half game behind the Astros for home field advantage throughout the postseason.

I thought listening to Underwood and Manning was pretty bad until I watched some of the game last night and those 3 monkeys were terrible. It is unfortunate that 3 of the remaining games are going to be nationally televised. I expect crap from Eshit but expected better from Fox.

And for that very reason I suggest muting the TV sound and tuning in Tom Hamilton. You’ll miss the TV nitwits spending half an inning talking about puppy poop like the Fox fools did last night. No, really, they DID do exactly that before I switched to radio for audio. I’m sure the rest of the Fox broadcast was not any better.

I know there are things about Tito that can be immensely frustrating, but he's about to wring 95 wins out of a roster that has been without 2 of their best starters for most of the year, had Clev miss about 2 months, then the assorted injuries to the bats. When you step back and look at it, it's really pretty remarkable. Can't think of anybody I'd rather have in the dugout.

Nice to see that there are people who still appreciate Tito. There's been a groundswell on Indians Twitter against the guy. People who prefer a younger, more analytical manager.

Like you said, I think he's done a great job this year, all things considered.

Even if the Indians don’t win anything else this year, this Win makes it a successful season:

There are definite areas of improvement that he has guided the team into. He certainly has overseen a progressive improvement defensively compared to where they were at when he took over. Generally, the team is well prepared and they don't beat themselves.
