Huge day for the Tribe. They win both games of their doubleheader while the Twins, Rays and A’s all lose.

Two games back in the Central with a four game set starting in Minneapolis tomorrow. Three games up for the first wild card spot on Tampa and 3.5 games up on Oakland.

Also, they have the fifth best record in all of baseball.

He basically manufactured the Tribe's first run of the game with his heads up base-running on Gibson's errant pick-off throw.

I know Tito has been a popular target when they have struggled, and he does deserve criticism at times, but he is truly an elite manager. God, I wish he was the skipper of those 90s teams or in the mid-2000s.

Also, the way this franchise churns out quality starting pitchers is absurd.

Puig’s strong throws from deep RF have slowed opponents’ running game too. Didn’t get the out but made throw that arrived on target on the fly last night that caused Twins to hold runner later in game.

Three of them (Bieber, Plesac, Civale) were all drafted in 2016. Pretty awesome to be getting positive contributions from each of them at the major league level this quickly.

He certainly has helped shape the team to fit a winning mold, and has elevated the franchise somewhat. If only he didn't have guys bunt so often...

I dont know if Urshela has found his stride or this year is a mirage like Aguilar's All-star season in Milwaukee, but it would have been Tito's wet dream for Gio to hit like that in Cleveland.

Tribe going for the tie in the AL Central tonight. I still think they face a harder schedule than the Twins the rest of the way, but Cleveland did more to improve their team in July with trades than Minnesota did, plus they are playing a bit better overall than the Twins. This season is the most hotly contested the AL Central has been in several years.
