Cleveland Indians (2019 Thread of Indifference)

He is getting paid $4.5 million this season. I don't know what his commitment level to rehab has been, but to take 2 years to come back and then turn around and still be injured by the time you finally take the mound, I would say Cleveland is past due to cut him loose.

They’ll move Salazar to the 60 day IL when Kluber’s activated. Then DFA from the 60 day after the season.

I have seen enough from Yasiel Puig in 2 games to know that Cleveland not re-signing him would be a mistake. It is not like they are already invested heavily in the outfield. They dumped Bauer's salary, no doubt Kip will follow. Over the past couple of years, the players they have added are young and cheap for the most part. If only penny-pinching Dolan wasn't pulling the strings.

They right now on their roster have a grand total of 4 players making over 10 million this season. Santana at 20, Kluber at 17, Kipnis at 15, and Lindor at 10.5. Kip is done after this year. Santana has 1 year left. Kluber has 2 more years. Lindor will be traded in less than 2 years.

Took all three from the Angels. Granted they are a .500 ball club but those are games they have to win right now. Three with the similarly .500 Rangers and then four big ones with the Twins.
