Cleveland Indians 2015 Thread of Barely Restrained Contempt (BALLS)

The mouth of the North (Drennan) said yesterday that the Indians are looking to trade Swisher for another bloated contract. Threw out the name Upton (not CJ). I have no idea who would take Swisher before they would see him run on his two knees not to mention swinging a bat.

Shaun Marcum and Dustin Molleken, welcome aboard! Apparently that 1-10, 5.29 ERA season 2 years ago with the Mets has Shappinetti excited.

Championships!11!11!1!!!!11!!! :slappy:
At least Marcum has had some level of major league success (yes, he's still washed up). I'm usually up on the most obscure guys, but this Molleken character is a new name to me. No wonder, 4.90 ERA in eleven minor league years without a Sept cup of coffee? Stiff...probably most pissed that he's a couple weeks younger than me and considered a never-was. Sigh.

I'd rather have Brohio than Upton, who has 3yr/45 million left and a malcontent when not around baby bro.

On another depressing note, Upton and Molleken share the same birthdate. Upton was the first guy younger than me to make the majors so he's on my shit list in perpetuity.

The Indians have acquired Brandon Moss for minor league 2B Joe Wendle....

Good deal, Moss average slipped last year but he was hurt and had that corrected this offseason....20+ HR the past 3 years.

A's fans are pissed that they dealt a fan favorite, good fielding, decent offensive 1B for a borderline butcher in the field 2B, with slightly above average BA and power.

the only real question is where Cleveland is going to play him. Dude is a straight 1st baseman. Unless they plan on riding the debacle that will be Nick Swisher in RF, then it's a curious move without a follow up move forthcoming.

Yea the Indians basically gave up nothing, I dont think Wendle has much potential to be even a backup in the MLB.

If I had to guess id say Swisher gets dumped at some point, theres been rumors of it but now it all seems logical.

Antonelli says that he can play both left and right field in addition to first base but what else is he going to say when Santana is locked in at first base. I guess I now understand why Cleveland as so many left-handed bats because Antonelli says that the power alleys are fit for left-handed hitters. I have no idea what they are planning to do with this guy because I cannot see anybody taking Swisher off of our hands because of his salary. I know that we gave up nothing for the guy but we did give up something even if it was not much. I do not know maybe there is a plan to move Murphy or Bourn to another team but I have no idea who.

Got Terry Pluto's "Glory Days In Tribe Town" last week. It just makes me fucking sad reading about those great teams in the 90's. One, because it's infuriating they never won a World Series with all of that absurd talent, and two, because it'll never be like that again. My God, just go back and look at that '95 lineup. Our #8 hitter smacked 25 homeruns.

Side note-- I frickin' love Terry Pluto. I'll read anything he writes.

He has about 100 more games in the OF than at 1st though. He wasn't an OF in Oakland where the outfields are gigantic. In Cleveland I could see him in LF pretty easily if he can handle playing with the wall. I would imagine they'll move Murphy before Bourne but that's just a guess.
