a few years back I could totally buy a Jake Peavy Brett Myers pitching duel

this is not a pitching duel, this is a [Mark May]ty hitting matchup

after they got rid of the steroids maybe they needed to lower the mound for pitcher - hitter balance.

maybe tighten up the strike zones.

Doubt it...today was the first win for the sox on the road if that tells u how bad they have been

If Santana doesn't catch, we are back to having 3 DH/1B and we have to waste 2 roster spots on catchers who can't hit instead of one. Even if the guys pitch better with someone else...no choice but to catch him.
