Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Yep. The thing I'm most worried about is that we spent major $$ on Swisher and Bourn...and top out at 78-84 wins over the next four years.

They have to find out what Bauer, Carrasco and McCallister can give them alongside Masterson. Hell, bring up Danny Salazar and let him sink or swim.

I'm more satisfied with the front office this year than when they sat on their hands, but it still seems their trying to straddle the fence. If this team only sees one playoff appearance in four years with Swisher/Bourn, that's a terrible ROI. If they can't support those signings with good players in the field and on the mound, it's a waste. Myers and Jimenez are chum guzzlers and simply the next incarnation of Pavano/Lowe.

Oakland can go young with starting pitching but we can't?

In Cleveland it's a don't bring him up, he's not ready excuse. It's been here for years, and it's gotten us jack squat. Even though we have brought up a few guys in the past, they've pitched no worse than what we had before they came up. I agree with you all, bring up some young guns and see what they can do

Shapinetti will never want to admit they made a royal [censored]up by trading for Ubaldo...which is why I think we are stuck with him.

^^^Exactly what I was going to post. They will hang onto him (already have, in my imo) way longer than they should in the hope that he will somehow miraculously turn things around and redeem that brilliant trade.

Yep. We're gonna be subjected to his bullshit until all 18 Indians fans are storming the FO. Only then will they admit what a massive fuckup trading for this clown while the team was already in a massive goddamned tailspin was.

That gets my goat as well...I liked the acquisition when it was made, but the problem is just being compounded by leaving the guy in to get shelled. Jimenez had the 1000 yard stare last night which is the death knell for me (I'm slow on the uptake).

Heck, I don't think many fans keep tabs on white/pomeranz, this isn't a Ricky rincon situation where we undervalued our own guys along with overvaluing the return.

EDIT: Jimenez' suck is contagious. I wonder if its 75% Red Sox 'fans' at the Jake. Probably worse than ever with the Marathon sympathy going strong.
