I don't know about the length of the contract because we all know what happened with Hafner but I assume the Indians had to give them 4 years to get him. Now all we need is some starting pitching:lol:
NEW YORK (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations says Nick Swisher has agreed to a $56 million, four-year contract with the Cleveland Indians.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Sunday because the agreement had not been announced.

The 32-year-old Swisher spent the last four seasons with the New York Yankees and took advantage of the short porch at Yankee Stadium. A switch-hitter who plays outfield and first base, he hit .272 this year with 24 homers and 93 RBIs.

His agreement was first reported by the New York Daily News.

I realize there is no starting pitching or a DH in this lineup but are they really needed with the power that this lineup possesses:lol:

I am sure that the Dolans will spend all this money on signing some high quality starting pitching:lol:
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- FOX Sports has purchased SportsTime Ohio for an estimated $230 million. The purchase gives Fox a deal in excess of 10 years to broadcast Indians games worth at least $400 million over the first 10 years of the contract.

FOX will pay the Indians an escalating rights fee starting at $40 million in 2013. STO was paying the Indians an estimated $30 million a year in right fees.

The Dolan family, which owns the Indians, created STO to carry Indians games in 2006. Before that, Indians games had been broadcast on Fox Sports networks from 1998 through 2005.
