Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Josh hamilton is available... he struck out more then reynolds last year

:roll1:

Reynolds also played in 13 fewer games, had 100 fewer abs and also had 20 fewer homers, 60 points lower in BA and 60 fewer RBI...

GREAT comparison :slappy:

BTW Hamilton struck out a MASSIVE 3 times more than Reynolds.

This, coupled with the absolutely stupid Reynolds signing is going to cause a tsunami on lake erie from all of the wind energy being generated at the ballpark....

8. Then they also picked up Drew Stubbs, a hot prospect once upon a time. He can run -- at least 30 steals in the last three seasons. He can play well in center because of that speed. He even can hit lefties (.276, .821 OPS) for his career. But combine this guy with free agent Mark Reynolds, and the Tribe has added two players who make Russell Branyon look like a contract hitter. Talk about extreme strikeouts. If they both are in the every day lineup, that will be painful to watch.

I don't like the deal. I know that Bauer was Arizona's top prospect put the keyword here is bolded. Until he proves himself in the major leagues, I will not like the deal. They got rid of my favorite Indians player for a prospect and some more air conditioning to go along with Reynolds. Yea, I know that they got some bullpen help but they also gave up some bullpen and really how much bullpen does one team need if they don't have any hitting and we still are stuck with that fat ass Cabrera.

I would think with all the money that they are waving around at free agents they could have re-signed Choo. If not, I would have held him to the trading deadline and I think we might have been able to pick up a quality major leaguer. If not a major leaguer, I am sure that other teams have top prospects also.

We gave up our two top pitching prospects to get Jimenez. I guess I am just getting tired of the Indians getting prospects because I have seen on the prospects that we got for Lee and CC have worked out for us. Oh, what the fuck difference does it make. This team is going to stink for a very long time.

Bauer makes or breaks this deal but it I think this is a worthy risk. Choo would've walked and Bauer has a very high ceiling...I just hope they let him/Carrasco/McCallister learn in the major league rotation for a year. Hopefully Stubbs gets back to a league-average player. Sipp, Albers, Donald, Anderson are all fungible.

no, they couldn't have re-signed choo. boras has made that abundantly clear. it's going to take at least a 6 year deal at $15 million per to sign him. the fact that they could get a prospect the level of baur for a guy that will be a free agent in a year, regardless of team is a good deal, plain and simple. the longer you hold choo, the more his value drops since he's going to be a FA. it's pretty simple logic.

Scott Boras almost always takes his clients to free agent status. No amount of money was going to be enough to sign Choo.

Forget Choo, I'm getting tired of the Dolans owning this team. The one major sport where there is no salary cap has owners who had just enough money to buy the team, but not enough to run the team. I hated it when they bought the franchise as even Stevie Wonder could see that they didn't have the money to really run the team.
