Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Uballso 7 IP 7 H 1 R (0 ER) 10K/0BB

11-9 with a 3.62 ERA on the season now.....dare we say he might be turning the corner to decent?

will be quite interesting to see how the option works at the end of the season. it's a mutual option, and I can't see any way Jiminez takes it for $8 million next year. He would probably get that in the FA market for 5 years. Concurrently, he's been such a train wreck save for the last 3 months, that you'd have to be uneasy about giving him any sort of long term deal.

He'll definitely opt out and likely get 3-4 years elsewhere for at a bare minimum of $10 mil per. I hope it works out for him, he's been fantastic lately but we don't need to take that kind of risk when we have young studs under our control for the next 3+ years like Masterson (the only one approaching FA soon), Kluber, McCallister, and Salazaar. I'd rather attempt Kazmir again or push one of the farm kids a little faster and use that $ towards the lineup, like getting a 3B.

i wouldn't touch him either. it really smacks of a contract that some team will end up regretting. the guy has been all kinds of terrible for nigh on 3 years and suddenly puts it all together in the final 2/3 of his contract year. i've seen that script before.

Yeah, glad he's pitching better lately, but no way I'd pay him what he'll likely command. Maybe he's finally unfucked himself, but a franchise with these financial constraints can't roll the dice on a guy that's been 80% awful in 2+ years. Better served using that money where they really need it...more bats.

I see Carl Pavano written all over his next contract...do not want.

Carry on to you too.

And sorry, I don't remember every line from that movie

Well, I 'added' the part about being 1.5 games our of the wildcard, the actual quote is they are climbing out of the cellar.

Don't get sucked in. JUST SAY NO!!!!

I almost don't want them to make the playoffs... how embarrassing will it be when we have 10k for a playoff game, or how hypocritical it would be to all of sudden go from less than 10k to a sell out for playoff games.
