Cleveland Indians (2011 Season)

Indians manager Manny Acta said Friday that they are still exploring their options with Carlos Carrasco, who is currently on the disabled list with an elbow injury.

Tommy John surgery is a possibility, confirming a report from Venezuelan newspaper L?der de Deporte, but it's not a certainty at this time. Carrasco, 24, was placed on the disabled list in early August for what was originally termed as right elbow inflammation.

At Huntington Park with the fam. Who should I be watching? Not a big Indians fan.
LaPorta (LaBusta) came over in the CC trade and is a bigger "name." Just sent down from the Indians last week I believe.
Valbuena gets a cup of coffee in the bigs when the entire infield is injured- typical AAAA player.
Zach McAllister is a good young arm on the mound tonight.
Trevor Crowe was a good prospect but hasn't panned out.

Clippers take 2-1 lead on back to back bases loaded walks by the Mudhens pitcher. LaPorta hasn't hit the ball out of the infield either time up. McAllister is dealing though. Hasnt given up a hit since the first. Beautiful ballpark. My first time here. Haven't been to a Minor League game since a dime a dog night about five years ago at the Coop.

key thing is that we play detroit 6 more times...with all the injuries its going to be tough to pull it out but it says something for how bad this division is
Very true. But with the overwhelming number of injuries the Indians have suffered makes this quite an accomplishment.

With their 69th win, Cleveland ties their win total from last year.

Awesome....Cliff Lee trade really paying off! hell of a job there Shapiro

http://www.waitingfornextyear.com/2...-have-tommy-john-surgery-out-for-2012-season/

Rumors began to swirl last week that Carlos Carrasco would need Tommy John surgery – ending not only his 2011 season but almost certainly wiping out all of his 2012 season. Those rumors were confirmed this afternoon, with the AP’s Tom Withers, among others, reporting that he will indeed undergo TJ surgery and have the 2012 season wiped out. Carrasco was 8-9 with a 4.62 ERA in 21 games this season. He was the club’s best and most reliable starter through this season’s rough June stretch. Carrasco went to the DL on August 8th, in the middle of serving a suspension for throwing at the Royals’ Billy Butler. He experienced elbow inflammation – a symptom which often portends Tommy John and missed seasons. Paul Hoynes reminds us that the only healthy and contributing (use that term loosely) bodies left from the Cliff Lee deal are Lou Marson and Jason Donald.

To add a little extra spice to the Tuesday afternoon pitching news, Tracy Ringolsby is reporting that Drew Pomeranz will make his Major League debut for the Rockies this Sunday. As the Lee deal reminds us, though, TINSTAAPP!
