And they're still pissing away good starting pitching, which is the saddest thing of all...

I do not understand why Paul thinks that we have to make a trade. I think that in order to stay in contention, or probably by the time a trade is made, to get back into contention the Indians will I have to make a couple trades. We need a right-handed hitting outfielder and we have to get rid of that big lumbering jackass over at first base.y0yoyoin;1959992; said:http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2011/07/paul_hoynes_talks_indians_trad.html
hoynes podcast...basically said the well is dry for prospects to come up and make an impact this year from AAA or AA...said the top 4 prospects, chiz, pomeranz, alex white, kipnis, are all not untouchable...if the deal was right for say a hunter pence, then he believes we would get rid of any of those 4 for him...said we may go after a starter but offense is what we need the most obviously...also is of the opinion that the indians have to make a trade
Yeah, they need bats, but they need people that can actually play defense on a major league level just as bad...at multiple positions. I'm pretty much against making a move at this point to "try" to remain in contention. They're fooling themselves if they think one player is going to stop this death spiral. If it's a guy that they feel can help this season and beyond at a reasonable price, fine. But going out and getting a fucking Ryan Ludwick or somebody of his ilk is totally pointless. Just take the lumps the rest of the way, play the kids, cut the dead weight this offseason and start looking at 2012 and beyond.LitlBuck;1960013; said:I do not understand why Paul thinks that we have to make a trade. I also have no idea why we need to pick up another starter when White will be coming back fairly soon and we have about 6-7 decent starters not including White. Of course, if someone wants to give us a quality pitcher for someone who is buried deep down in Akron or Kinston I guess I would think about it

Do you really think someone like Ryan Ludwick is going to change anything? There are too many holes and it's finally taking it's toll. One (mediocre) bat isn't going to change anything.y0yoyoin;1960020; said:i agree with paul...we need to make a trade...not this offseason, now....as of right now we are only 2 games back...next year we could be the kanas city royals...you never know what can happen year by year unless your the yankees and you stack your squad...so since we are in contention this year a trade is needed to be made...you cannot go on with kearns and buck as your starting RF's
We will see how far we are back after we get done with Kansas City and then get done by Boston and the Rangers. Those last two series should about do us in no matter who we have on the roster. I can't wait much longer either but I think adding players that have been talked about except for Hunter Pence are worthless.y0yoyoin;1960020; said:i agree with paul...we need to make a trade...not this offseason, now....as of right now we are only 2 games back...next year we could be the kanas city royals...you never know what can happen year by year unless your the yankees and you stack your squad...so since we are in contention this year a trade is needed to be made...you cannot go on with kearns and buck as your starting RF's

BTW, it was only a matter of time until these chumps got no-hit. Looks like today is the day.
Eh, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. This team is a giant mess right now and I don't see Ryan Ludwick keeping them in contention no matter how many games they're out right now. If they can get him for a hill of beans fine, but not for anything more than that. The only thing helping this team is 2-3 bats and a handful of guys who don't field their positions like a retarded goose.y0yoyoin;1960034; said:actually as a one year rental, someone like ludwick would make a difference...its funny because people keep bashing ludwick when if he was traded to our team would be 1st in RBI's, 3rd in homers, and 4th in Runs...yah his average is only .240 but have you looked at our current roster's avg's?...he only has 11 HR's but he also hits in one of the worst hitting parks in all of baseball....i dont want to give up anything crazy for him but i do believe he would help us this year...and one good thing about this no hitter is that i will actually be able to watch this awesome offensive performance now on either MLB network or ESPN

...and mentioning that Ludwick would instantly be leading our team in any category doesn't mean he's any good.
