Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Clinched Home court for the Knicks series tonight and Mitchell scored 40+ for the 4th game in a row. He's the only player in the league to do that this year. Allen's back too. Let's do this baby!

And yet fans on one of the Cavs boards still think trading for Mitchell was a bad move. Their reply to that would be, "Well Agbaji scored 22 against the Lakers." Without Mitchell the Cavs would be fighting for the play-in the same as last year with Garland getting run ragged every night. Not bashing Agbaji. I'm sure he'll be a good player, but you have to give up something to get something and the Cavs got a top 10 player in Mitchell.

I just hope the Cavs can ratchet up the defense in the playoffs. I was willing to let it slide while Allen was out, but he's been back a couple games and they are still giving up a ton of points. Now that they are locked in the 4 spot get everyone rested and ready for the playoffs.

Anyone who says the Mitchell deal was bad is either living in “we’re going to get LeBron again in the draftzzzz!!!1!1!” LaLa Land or has zero functioning brain cells.

Yea draft picks are pretty much worthless in the NBA if you are picking outside of the top 10 (hell even the later half of the top 10 is meh in most years)

Their draft pick this year that was traded for example, Ochai Agbaji is averaging 7.5 PPG 2.1 RPG and 1.0 APG (who cares that he had 1 game where he scored 22 points). You aren't going to win with a bunch of guys you draft in the 10+ range usually.

For teams that aren't going to usually attract big FAs like the Cavs, You pretty much have to be REALLY REALLY Bad to maybe (even then you still need things to go your way) get really good in the NBA. You most likely aren't finding great success in the draft being a average-below average team year in and year out.
