Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Can you imagine a lineup of
  • PG – Darius Garland
  • SG – Donovan Mitchell
  • SF – Markkanen
  • PF – Evan Mobley
  • C – Jarrett Allen

I don't have time to watch games like I used to, but I don't know if Markkanen will be able to sustain playing at the 3 for too long. Hopefully LeVert can improve over last year and be a good 6th man, but bringing LeVert, Love, and Rubio off the bench sounds like it has a good chance of one of them going off in a given game. The ultimate goal will be to find a 3 and D SF that can defend the best player on the other team, but for now they'll probably have to rely on just the D unless Okoro has become a knockdown 3pt shooter over the summer. Allen and Mobley can help lock down the rim, but they need that 3 to help make up for the guards. On a Cavs board a Utah fan said Mitchell was projected as a good defender when he was drafted so they thought a change of scenery and different coaching might help him reclaim some of that. The biggest key for the Cavs last year was everyone bought into the system. They need to continue that for any of this to work.

The Raptors really play garbage basketball. They foul the whole game with the understanding that the refs won't call everything then bitch when they get called for something borderline ticky-tack. I also think all sports need a reckless injury rule where if you cause an injury to an opponent due to a reckless play (i.e. Garland last night) you miss as much time as the player you injure. That might prevent teams from playing dangerously knowing it isn't their players that will get hurt.

The Offense went OFF tonight. 128-96 in Chicago behind Mitchells 30+. With he and Garland on the floor and the bigs healthy, this team is super dangerous. Either Okoro or another guy needs to fill that SF role and I'd be giddy if it's someone who can lock the opponent down. We still have a strong bench as well and I didnt even realize Robin Lopez was on there with his giant self. LOL, this is going to be a fun year!

This team is fun to watch especially when Garland and Rubio get healthy. Okuro needs to start seeing his offseason shooting work show up on the court. The starters are good, but the second unit with Mitchell running the point got the Cavs back in the game tonight. They'll go legit 10 deep when Rubio gets back.

Cavs beat the Knicks 121-108. Mitchell with 37. Dude is fucking ridiculous.

Dean Wade had 22 points. 6/8 from 3. Mitchell and Love both had 8 threes.

Caris Levert..... went 0/9 from the field and had 1 point. lol. In his last two games, he has 42 points. But the fact that a starter didn't make a bucket from the field and the team still won by 13.. this is a good team. Maybe a great team. Time will tell. Luckily, the core is intact for a few years.
