Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

two things have been obvious in the last 10 games since AV has been out. First, he and Tristan Thompson are redundant players. Second, Tyler Zeller is a nice rotational big, but he isn't a legit starter.

depending on how the draft shakes out it could be interesting. The Cavs should clearly draft shabazz mohammed if he's available. but alex len would be the perfect center to complement Thompson.

The thing that Chris Grant uses to make his draft selections. It's why he seems to reach every year outside of the Kyrie pick.

I know Waiters was a shock because he didn't participate In pre draft workouts. But even then he was slotted to go to the Raps or Warriors , And scouts said he could be the best guard In that draft.

Would fans of been happy with Barnes after he struggled against Ohio?

Varejao surgery on knee...out 6-8 weeks...grant blew every perfect opportunity he had to trade him for his peek value...we still might be able to get a decent return for him, but nothing like we could have received...grant needs to hold varejao out until he is traded

was chris grant supposed to force teams to give cleveland something of value for him?

RCF had a nice write up on this and how teams rarely makes trades of any consequence outside of the trade deadline and in the offseason. there's been one trade since the season started, matt carroll for hakeem warrick. and that's with kevin love bitching about minny and memphis actively shopping rudy gay. teams don't make trades this early in the year.

had he been dealt earlier, people would by bitching that the cavs got pennies on the dollar for the NBA's leading rebounder and one of the most efficient centers in the league.

The only way the Cavs were going to get real value for Andy was if he could play up until the trading deadline without injury. I'm sure they could have done things like limit him to around 25 minutes a game to try to keep him fresh and injury free, but you can't really do that with your second best player. Hopefully he recovers and gets some minutes in before the deadline to see if he can establish some value. If not you hold onto him and try again next year.

On the bright side the Cavs have enough picks that they can hopefully add some depth to get Andy back down under 30 minutes.

Nice, you're on RCF too? What's your handle?

I'm still not convinced Varejao is this hurt. Whether it is for tanking or because they are in the middle of trade talks, i don't know.

edit: Nevermind, just saw his injury update today.

RCF had a nice write up on .

Well we have had pretty much since the summer olympics to show to the world that he was injury free and in hindsight we should of been more aggressive to reach out to other teams to get a deal done...was i overreacting because this shit is extremely annoying and frustrating? Yes.....btw, wtf is RCF?

RCF= Real Cavs Fans. The main site I look to for Cavs-related info.

On an unrelated note, I read somewhere recently, that an NBA GM said
LBJ returning to Cleveland in '14 is the worst -kept secret in the league.

i call farce. unless of course the GM was David Kahn, in which case nothing out of his mouth would surprise me.

Either way, if he opts out like has been rumored, that 2015 Heat pick
looks alot more attractive, regardless of where he goes.

I think I read somewhere that the Heat won't be able to keep all three after next year. I'm sure Lebron will be the one that they really want to keep, but that franchise is going to be so far behind with the crappy draft picks that they didn't trade away. They are able to get by for now by signing old guys that want to win a title, but that will only work as long as they have three all stars.

Of the three douches Lebron is the most likely to opt out since Wade looks older and older by the day, and Bosh is a bitch. If he's the only one to opt out they will have to let him walk. As much as I hate him if he wanted to sign in Cleveland I would take him. It was probably Gilbert's plan all along. Let Lebron win his title and learn how to be a leader while the Cavs got good draft picks and built a team for him to come back to. It is interesting that the biggest hole they have right now is a SF. :p
But really if they don't make a move at SF before next season I'm really going to wonder if this is in the cards.
