Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

There are only 5 games left. Limiting minutes now wont help. Its too late for that. We also need the one seed.

We beat Boston tomorrow, own the tie breaker, win out and rest the starters for the final game which gives everyone 5 days rest before the playoffs. Plus gives us home court when we face Boston in the ECF.

Hopfully that forces Boston and Washington to face each other grinding out a 6-7 game series in the 2nd round while the Cavs get a week of rest after crushing the first two series.

Hopfully Toronto gets locked in at #4, Lowry and Derozan choke worse than Curry and Thompson.

I'd use Liggins on Thomas tonight.. he's a relentless dog

That's why I'd like to see the minutes spread around a little better. Even if Liggins only played 5 minutes he could spend it checking what Thomas had for dinner for 94 feet. With TT out they called Sanders back so we might see if he's just in D-league shape now or if he can play. See how Boston handles the spread the floor lineup tonight with Frye likely starting. Cavs would look like they did in the Finals a couple years ago, but a lockdown lineup of Liggins, Shump, JR, Lebron, and Sanders might be interesting for a few minutes.

I would have bet 10 stacks that The Cavs would not violently beat down The C's last night.

I still think rest is imperative and it isn't to late.

Would love to wrap up the one seed Sunday and rest Monday @ Miiami and certainly Wednesday v Toronto.

Would love to give The King a week of paid vacation:

To that end I'm cheering for The Hawks tonight v The C's.

Best case scenario for the Cavs would be to win tonight and then hope Boston loses tomorrow night to Charlotte. The top seed would be wrapped up after that.

That would then give the Cavs the last three games to rest all their key guys. When you consider they've opened the playoffs on a Sunday the last two seasons, you're looking at eight days total of rest. Talk about huge.

They've had a few games in the last week with decent shooting so it should come around. I'm guessing when they saw the Hawks were sitting their starters last night they flipped off the competitive switch and realized too late that was a huge mistake. I'd look for the Cavs to show up tomorrow to make up for the turd they dropped on the court last night. They've shown that they do have a switch and once the playoffs start their goal is to play as few games as possible i.e. better for Lebron to play 42 minutes a game for 4 games than 35 minutes for 7.

Looking at the playoffs I don't know that the Cavs are better with Dwill. He's good Kyrie insurance, but they are better with Lebron bringing the ball up and Shump defending the backup PG with Korver at SG. I like the 2nd lineup of Shump, Korver, RJ, Lebron, and Frye with RJ and Korver giving Lebron some rest with the starters. I actually enjoyed watching the Cavs the most this season when Dwill2 was on his 10 day contracts.
