Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

It would be a stupid trade to just dump those two, but the question is how much they're getting out of love. They're stuck with a giant contract for production way below that paygrade. Worse yet, the headband wearing GM also hamstrung them with the Thompson contract.

It's almost like being a premiere basket maker doesn't quality you to run a franchise. It does quality you to strangle it repeatedly and have them keep letting it happen because they need you.

Hamstrung them how? This makes no sense.

Wilt Chamberlain .511

Shaq was .527

I'm guessing they didn't use the hack a wilt strategy tho.... Although, that's maybe because if a team did, Wilt would fuck all their wives, sisters and moth... oh who am I kidding, he did that anyway.
Wilt attempted 34 FTs in a game and missed 22 in another...so I think they kind of did. But no way they did it by hugging him in the backcourt, because he would have killed them, or fucked them, or eaten them, or something.

All that:

I don't think it's reasonable to change the rules because some players are historically bad at one facet of the game. Kevin Love sucks at defense, but the Cavs aren't asking the league to take defense out of the game. Hack-a-whoever is a legitimate strategy. DeAndre Jordan shouldn't be rewarded for his incompetence.

I don't disagree with that. They should however be attempting a "basketball" play when they foul though or it should be an intentional foul imo. Holding, moving pick, going for the ball etc. - all basketball plays. Running up to the guy in the backcourt 50 feet away from the play and fouling is definitely not.

Kevin Love's stat line for game 6 on thursday.

33 points
13 rebounds

Bank!

On to game 7 at Oracle

Oh please let this happen!

So far the NBA Finals have gone like the Stanley Cup Finals with the home team winning the first 3 games followed by the visitors taking the next two.

Can the Cavs change the narrative tomorrow?

You know, I've always wondered, why is it that centers in particular tend to just be horrible at free throws? Is it because they typically just put in layups, dunks, and the occasional 5-10 footer and thus have 0 shooting form? Wouldn't that be fixed by all the other work they put in, and FT practice? It just seems so odd that one particular position is notoriously bad at FTs, but I never really thought about it much before right now.

It can't be just one factor. The euro bigs tend to develop an outside game and that creates proper shooting form. If a player has always had the size (which is typically the case), they did not need to venture any further out than 5-8 feet from the rim. I thought of Anthony Davis who played guard most of his early days and then sprouted late. He is a great FT shooter. Plus guards/wings are used to taking jump shots. The bigs will practice hooks, layups, and dunks. I would love to see video of Shaq going through a typical warm up line and just pull up for a jump shot.

Not sure if mentioned, but Bogut out for remainder of the series. Could be big if it goes 7.

Well. I guess it means 12-15 mins or whatever he plays to the other hapless clowns they call bigs. Give me all the McAdoo you can. Though he'll foul out in 7 mins so, I guess more side show Bob.
