Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Green plays dirty because he is overrated, overmatched and not that athletic and he also gets away with it which I hate. What Curry does on offense is unbelievable and he has fun out on the court but I'm old school and dislike the celebration after a made 3 or running back on defense before his shot goes through the rim because of the example it sets for young kids that try to emulate him.

Or staring at the opposing bench after he shoots an it goes in. He reminds me of Al Bundy. There was a bowling episode where Al would bowl and as soon as he let the ball go he would turn around yell "STRIKE." Only Al Bundy was lovable. Curry is a pompous ass. And quit propping your kid up at press conferences. He's trying way to hard to make everyone love him. We get it, you have a kid. A lot of people do.

Honestly I think Curry is the new Tim Tebow (college version). There's really little reason to outright hate the guy, but the over-the-top media slobbering is quickly making it that if you don't spooge at the mere mention of his name, you hate his guts.

well, a lot more goes into it than that. some is guilt by association. draymond green is a total thug that everyone hates. the rest of the golden state team, including steve kerr, are a bunch of whiny bitches that think every whistle should go their way, and throw on the court tantrums when it doesn't, at a level that would get just about every other player or coach hit with a technical foul. couple that with all the shit they get away with on the court, a lot of which is brazenly obvious. their fans are a bunch of johnny-come-lately bandwagon jackasses that cry about everything and have little basketball knowledge.

ergo, being the face of that team, a team that is just so easy to hate, coupled with the media knob gobbling and a joke of a fanbase, and you get someone that is easily hated.

I was very blunt last year in saying that there was no way in hell we would beat GS in the finals. I will be equally straight forward in saying that I truly believe the Cavs are going to win it this year. We've gotta play to our ability but I think we will, we're dialed in. Going to be a really fun series to watch though.

Are the easy to hate, or easy for a Cleveland fan to hate? I'm genuinely asking.

Just had a talk with a co-worker who follows basketball fairly regularly, and it immediately went to whether or not the whole fucking thing is fixed. I remember someone here posting when it was 2-2 in both conference final series that there's no way the NBA would allow an OKC-Toronto final. My co-worker said he noticed that during yesterday's game that even when GS went down 13 points, they were (according to him) still laughing and joking around on their bench as if they knew the game was in the bag regardless. Then of course the apparent tweet/post on the NBA web/Twitter site before Game 7 showing GS already in the finals. As we talked some more, I figure that if it is rigged in some way, it's obviously for money/ratings, and that it would probably be the league's best interest to have the Cavs win it. And if that's the case, it would be a 6- or 7-game series, with the likeliest scenario being the Cavs winning at home in Game 6. So, going with that, I'll make a semi-prediction that the finals will play out like this:

Game 1: Cavs win in a semi-convincing fashion to steal home court
Game 2: GS wins a close one to tie it up
Game 3: Cavs win in a blow out
Game 4: Cavs win a close one to go up 3-1
Game 5: GS wins fairly big, maybe even a blow out, to get everyone thinking that GS might make another comeback from being down 3-1
Game 6: Cavs win the title in a game that's close up through the late third or early fourth quarters but with the Cavs pulling away late to win by 8-10 points

Am I reading that right? The whole GS team from this year alone knows bout the fix and never a leak? But then they're cool to take the loss in the finals? Do they pick one team from each conference at the beginning of the playoffs? Do they have to give up their eldest son as a hostage to guarantee silence?

Golden State is basically Miami V2.0
Not even close. Miami bought their championship teams. Aside from Diane Wade and Haslem (who was a bit player with the big three), very little of their roster was drafted or developed by them. Much of GS's roster is organically grown...including their "big 3" (curry, thompson, green). There's a lot to dislike about GS, but you have to admire how they assembled their championship roster...unlike miami.
I meant the flopping and the complaining
Well, I'll give you that...along with the undeserving, bandwagon fanbase.

I have a hard time saying it's outright fixed...because that would be impossible to keep in the bag this day and age. However, I absolutely think results are heavily influenced by the league office through officiating during the season, and roster moves in the offseason (to include lebald's "I'm coming home" nonsense). The draymond green flagrant/no suspension was so brazenly biased, it was offensive. I want the Cavs to win, because goddammit, cleveland needs a fucking title. But i have a hard time taking the nba all that seriously. I view it more as "entertainment" than legit competition. It's not the same as the Tribe or clowns winning one to me...unfortunately, those two franchises ain't ever winning anything.

Notice the liberal usage of the word "if" throughout nearly the entire post...
