Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I think they began to find the right defensive formula in the fourth quarter of the game yesterday. They were hard trapping Lowry at the top and it was becoming very difficult for him to make plays. They were just worn down at the end of the game. Come out aggressive to start tomorrow night on both ends and things should take care of themselves.

They might have played terrible basketball but they only lost this terrible game by 6 points. On the road. In the playoffs, Eastern Conference Finals. There is no perfect team they just have to get it together and protect home court and get into the NBA Finals once again.

toronto is horrible on the road. someone should probably take your belt and shoelaces from you and keep you from all sharp objects.
Toronto is "horrible" on the road? Really?

The Raptors were 24-17 on the road during the regular season, which was tied for the third-best road record in the NBA (behind Golden State and San Antonio). The Raptors had exactly the same road record as the Cavs. Maybe fact-checking just isn't your thing.

I guess it's crazy to think that the "horrible" Raptors have a chance of winning one single game on the road in this series. You're absolutely right, there's no chance in Hell that the Raptors could ever accomplish something monumental like that.

That's the issue. They weren't aggressive at all in game 3. They didn't learn from it at all apparently, as they surely weren't aggressive in game 4 either. The offense was just chucking up bricks with no attempts to get inside to the rim. Toronto, on the other hand, got layups virtually whenever they wanted. They didn't learn from game 3, so I wouldn't be so sure that they'll learn from game 4. I expected an aggressive team to come out last night and all we got was a bunch of nancy ball.

toronto is 2-6 on the road in the playoffs, which is what really matters. and that was against the shitty pacers and a crippled miami team. but if winning a road game in philly in december is your metric, then by all means proceed. so, thinking a team that has been bad on the road throughout the playoffs is going to win 2 of 3, with 2 being on the road is far fetched is a far more likely scenario than your meltdown.

They got wide open shots but missed a bunch of them in the first half. It's not like the ball was sticking. We just didn't make Toronto pay for packing the paint.

Well, there's the whole thing. But in Q-4 (offensively) you saw part of the answer, now, of course it hurts to lose the rebounding, but, the key is more Frye (now I'm not saying right out of the gate, but, I am saying more) because it solves two problems for you. First is, he's their best 3 pt shooter at the moment, and second, it makes Biyombo move from protecting the rim. All that = more 3's (made) and more layups/dunks. Clearly they're gonna have to slow down Lawry and DeRozan somehow, but right now Biyombo is impacting the game down low more than Thompson.

I want a team from Cleveland to win a championship as much as anyone but this series against Toronto has brought out a couple things I have been thinking about all season.

TT did not deserve a max contract. He is a limited player.

Lue is not a better coach than Blatt. The players might like him more but from a pure basketball standpoint I do not think he is a better coach.

Hard to say he's better. I like what he tries to accomplish offensively, for the most part. When the shots are falling the Cavs are the best team in the NBA. The iso ball is still there, but it seems like it's more contained. The problem is, when the shots don't fall, they resort to iso ball.

Also, what's up with Mozgov? Why not throw him in there against Bismark? Seems like he would have the best success defensively.

Lue's strength as a coach was supposed to be on defense. The Cavaliers were hitting quite a few shots in the fourth quarter last night and they did not make up much ground because Toronto kept scoring with them.

TMo will not be seen again while the Cavaliers are still in contention for the title. The next time you will see him on the court will be with another team. Also, they need to get Bismarck away from the basket and TMo cannot do that just like Thompson cannot do that.
