Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Yeah I don't know if Detroit will pull out the GSW type shooting that they had for the first 3 quarters today. I'm guessing game 2 might be close for the first quarter or so, but then the Cavs will win comfortably. If Detroit is going to win one it will be game 3. I'm actually guessing a game similar to today in game 3 and then a blowout win in game 4 kind of like Atlanta last year. JR will be due for one of those crazy JR games before the end of the series.

Also, Timo only plays 4:34 against one of the few teams with a true center. I don't see that number going up against any other team.

This counts right?

Finally abusing these Michigan bitchtwinkies, but if this team is cold from 3, they won't beat anyone.

What team in the playoffs would win if the 3's aren't falling? You just hope they have enough shooters that you can find someone that's on every game. IIRC nobody was hitting 3's in the Finals last year and they were at least respectable for the first few games before depth caught up with them. It isn't like their hitting crazy 3's tonight. Most of them are wide open.

They're 2 short of the NBA record for 3s in a playoff game. Cut that number from 18 to 12 and their lead disappears. Cut it to 8 and they're down 10. So yes, every team struggles when they shoot bad, but this team seems to rely almost entirely on it right now.

They've never had an offense other than a shit ton of iso, but they wouldn't have shot 38 3's if they weren't hitting them. They only made 12 in game 1 against an abnormally hot shooting team and still won. Lebron tends to get points in the paint and open things up for guys outside. If they could make it to the Finals and have 4 games similar to this they have a shot.

The Cavs are going to get the Pistons best shot on Friday. Even then I doubt the Pistons shoot the 3 like they did in game 1. I just want everyone to stay healthy when the Pistons realize their only option is to thug it up like Boston last year. I'm looking for an outcome similar to game 1 with more Drummond, less 3's.

I'd like to send out a big fuck you to Chris Grant for drafting turds like Waiters and Bennett instead of a guy like Drummond that many of us thought would be a star. The only good pick the guy had was Kyrie. Hell I even thought Draymond Green would have been well worth the 2nd round pick they could have used on him based on his college performance.

Well said on all fronts--Detroit will definitely try to turn it into a fight now that they realize they won't be moving on to the next round. And I couldn't agree more on Grant; in fact, if anything, I think you may be giving him too much credit on picking Kyrie--my grandmother knew Kyrie was the right pick in that draft. And this is going to sound like Monday a.m. quarterbacking, but I remember watching the Green draft and not believing how far he dropped, knowing he was going to be a star. Grant? Instead, he was busy orchestrating a trade that landed Tyler Zeller in Cleveland. :roll1:

Thought the Cavs did will to "withstand" Detroits best punch- they're at home and shot well (albeit with some poor defense at times).

They're up. Talent wins out in the NBA. Take game 3, avoid any thuggery and sweep this Michigan losers.

I am becoming concerned about the cheap shots. Drummond has thrown at least three elbows tonight.
