Yes...in fact the word "genius" was thrown around.
Went to Princeton.

Was a beast on the international game.

He and his system have been vouched for by Gregg Popovich- one of the greatest basketball minds in the history of the game and a guy that is pretty short on praise. He is only 56 years old and by all comparisons was very close to following the same path as Pop- whose first 3 full seasons (beginning w/ Duncan) went 146-68, .682 after spending time in the International game. Blatt is 83-30, .675.

I got nothin'

word is that the lockerroom basically had it with him. brendan haywood was interviewed and basically said that players lost all respect for blatt because he'd never call out lebron for lebron screwing up, and lue would have to step in and do it. and when they basically scrapped blatt's offense in the middle of last year, it was basically lue running the show.

so, it seems the skids for this were greased a while ago. the players tuning out blatt and shitting on themselves against the spurs and warriors basically confirmed what most people were thinking in that the cavs would get outcoached and outplayed against the elite teams.

blatt may well go on to be a great coach, but he can't coach this kind of team. he needs to be coaching minnesota or the bucks.
