Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

Call me crazy, but I'm not giving up on this series yet. Don't get me wrong, my expectations are extremely low at this point, but the Cavs might as well take the viewpoint that they have nothing to lose. That doesn't mean they can win, but why not go balls to the wall and see what happens.

Next year will be interesting, and our Cavs should be loaded.

I'm not giving up, but if they win 4/6 with essentially 5 guys, it would be one of the greatest professional team sport accomplishments of all time.

I get what you're saying....but the whole Cavs fanbase cried for a few weeks straight over how they had to play the big mean Celtics and Bulls. People on here cried about the Bulls before a game was even played. Now it's, "Let's go rough up their best player." When it ended Love's season, Kleenex's stock went up 20 points just from users on this site alone.

Point taken, but there's a fine line between playing hard and trying to hurt somebody.
The way Kelly dislocated Love's shoulder was well beyond that line.
Elbowing a player in the face is well over that line (and I'm not talking about the ejection against Delly).

I know that one play does not make a game but that traveling call on big T still Pistons me off. It came at a very crucial point in the game and I know it was mentioned in the thread during the game. I have seen bad calls and that was very bad. Also that stupid foul by TT when Irving had a clean path to the basket just makes me want to ….

Without that traveling call, no OT and I wish Lebron would make his fucking free throws or at least 80% of them.

People bump knees all the time, what are the odds of it breaking a knee cap?
Its so frustrating, we finally get the best team in the league then everyone gets hurt. So Cleveland.
With a healthy Kyrie, Love and Varejao...We would have won the title.

Kyrie is just one of those players that is going to be plagued by injuries his whole career. I was hoping that with LeBald and Love here to take some of the pressure off of him, he'd be more likely to stay healthy. Guess not. He's just one of those guys. Hopefully he can stay healthy enough to get a title or two before he totally breaks down.

It will be interesting to see how the rotations change in game 2. The Warriors were better going small so I would expect to see more of that especially since the Cavs have no depth with the small lineup. I'm assuming Delly starts, but if I were Blatt I'd be ready to sub in Smith and let Lebron run the point. Lebron has to be Lebron, they need at least 2 other guys to be hot, and TT and Mozzy need to clean up the glass. With that said they need at least 2 of the non-rotation bench guys (Marion, Jones, Miller, or Harris) to contribute especially if they have to go small and with Lebron at the point. I'm guessing guys like Lebron, Shump, Smith, and TT will have to play 40+ minutes, but it might be worth breaking up the minutes a little better to see if they can stay fresh.

As unlikely as it is that anyone outside of the standard rotation contributes, I think you have to try.

Delly, Smith, Shumpert, LeBron, Jones, Thompson, and Mosgov will be dead tired by the time game five rolls around if no one else plays. Even if they manage to extend the series or make it competitive, you stand no chance in the last few games of the series. The Cavs need defense, ball movement, and the bench warmers to step up. If they don't get all three of those, they stand no chance. If they don't get at least two of those, they'll likely lose the next three games by double digits.
