Blatt will figure it out, but he was garbage last night. Total garbage. No adjustments, no timely timeouts, no nothing.Over under 40 games before. Blatt is fired?
At this rate the Cleveland bench will be outscored about 2500-18 for the season. One can overlook LeBron's desire to put on a show because he knew how expensive the tickets were last night and the growing pains of guys knowing where they are going to be on the court...but damn, Blatt looked like a deer in the headlights in front of a 747 last night. Panicked, clueless, and useless. That better improve. a lot. fast.So the morning after I am not as upset as last night. LeBron tried to do too many fancy things to put on a show for the crowd. Everyone was overpassing trying to not step on toes... and they thought it was going to be too easy after seeing how badly the Knicks lost last night. So they look like a team of stars playing like an all-star game and not a REAL game. They'll figure it out.
The only thing was the rotations... damn... Miller only played 3 minutes and Marion only had 10. WTF?!? And we have a game tonight?
But of course they are going to come out tonight and boat race the Bulls... but that's besides the point.
Yeah the Bulls could win by 40 and I don't think that would, in and of itself, cause any jumpers...but the Knicks loss, at home...that one is disturbing, exponentially moreso after their first asskicking. It's way too early to say there are any real problems...but damn, that game was a Charlie Weis turd-sized dud. Will be interesting to see how many ledge jumpers there are if they start 0-2.
I think a lot of us expected early struggles. Granted, I never would have thought they would play like absolute dog[Mark May] against a Knicks team fresh off of an ass kicking. But, you never know much about a team until a few weeks in. Especially one with so many new faces. They're still feeling each other out. The Cavs team that won 66 games a few years back started 1-2. I think this will end up being a very, very good team. I'm not gonna make any record predictions, but I suspect they'll win somewhere between 54-58 games. Not sure they're ready to get by a Bulls team with a healthy Derrick Rose. If Rose goes down, though, there shouldn't be very much resistance in the eastern conference.
Still think it's a year or two until they win it all...if they do it.
It really was, given the amount of hype and attention it received. Classic Cleveland, though.Yeah the Bulls could win by 40 and I don't think that would, in and of itself, cause any jumpers...but the Knicks loss, at home...that one is disturbing, exponentially moreso after their first asskicking. Well...LeBron opting out would be the MOST Cleveland thing ever...but turning back into the Cavs circa 2006 would be a close secondIt really was, given the amount of hype and attention it received. Classic Cleveland, though.
In the end, a slow start might be the best thing for this team in the long run. Could help temper the insane expectations coming in.
The cynical Cleveland fan in me that always sees impending doom expects this season to be a total flame-out, followed by Love bailing next summer. THAT would be the "most Cleveland thing ever."
