Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

So if the Lakers make the playoffs (big IF) looks like we'd have 3 first rounders and 2 2nd rounders (ours, LAL's and Miami's in the first and ours and Orlando's 2nd).

Will be very interesting to see what Grant does with those as obviously with how young we are we have no need for 5 rooks.....the 2nd rounders are interesting because they are so high, do we trade them for a future first on draft night or take some changes on euro talent and keep them stashed overseas for awhile....thoughts?

As an aside, I wish we'd bring Sasha Kaun back over....he'd add some size and defensive depth at C.

false. the cavs only have the right to swap the lakers pick with miami's if the lakers make the playoffs. so, assume LA makes the playoffs and picks 16. right now, the cavs have their pick, and miami's which is #28. what happens is that the cavs pick 16th and the lakers pick 28th.

if the lakers miss the playoffs, the Suns get their pick.

the cavs only have 2 1st round picks.

gotchya, thanks for the clarification tsteele!

It still leaves the Cavs with 4 likely top 35 picks in the draft and that would seem to not fit with what Coach Scott wants as this roster needs a little more of a roster presence; combine that with the emergence of Tristan with Varejao out making him even more of a trade bait and I think we will be in for a very unpredictable summer.

The Lakers will make the playoffs. Looking at schedules, they should be ahead of the Jazz by the end of March.

We're looking at somewhere around the 7th and 16/17th picks.

I'd gladly take a flyer on Noel at 7 (or Len) and the best available shooter
with the second first rounder.

first, no way the cavs fall down to 7th unless they get very unlucky in the lottery. secondly, no way noel lasts until #7.

I really hope the Lakers make the playoffs (and I think they will) Two picks in the top 16ish (with ours in the top 10) would be incredible.

As for our roster, I don't see it changing drastically this off-season. Unless we trade pick(s) for somebody like Kevin Love. But as for signing free agents, most believe the Cavs will keep their cap space for 2014, as that will be a much better FA class.

They're only 1.5 games from the 7th spot. As long as Irving stays healthy,
it's not that far fetched at all. And that's not counting dropping from the
Lottery.

As far as Noel, we're going to need some ping pong ball luck because without an
Irving injury, there's no way this team stays at #4. None.
