Cleveland Cavs (2016 NBA Champions)

I would love for this to happen. Oden is such a great person. He just cannot go wrong by signing him. I know that his knee is a concern but he is just a tremendous person and, if his knee would hold up, he would be a great addition to the Cavs.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are preparing to offer former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden a two-year deal after the trade deadline passes, according to the Akron Beacon Journal.

The deal would reportedly include a third year as a team option.

With the uncertainty of what might happen at the trade deadline, teams are hesitant to bring on a new player because it impacts the salary cap and roster slots. That's why the Cavs intend to wait a couple weeks. Once the dust settles, the interest in signing Oden will rise.

Oden reportedly has been targeting a comeback for the 2013-14 season. But with interest in him building, he might choose to sign now and continue his rehab as part of a team.

Oden has reportedly met with both the Cavs and the Celtics in recent weeks about a comeback. The Heat also have had interest in the big man.

The first player chosen in the 2007 draft hasn't played a game in the NBA since Dec. 5, 2009 and had his third microfracture surgery in March 2012, on his left knee. For his entire career, he has appeared in only 82 games.

i like the offer...it would be a gift from god if he accepted the offer, played about 50-60 games each year, and produced for the cavs...i wont be mad if he takes an offer somewhere else but the cavs do have alot to offer in the cleveland clinic and kyrie

Plus they have the money if something should go wrong. 2 years and it would certainly be a homecoming.

@JasonLloydABJ Kyrie seemed to take offense to being drafted 3rd for Rising Stars. Said now he's playing starters minutes and trying for 50

Just to fill in anyone who doesn't know the story. It was discussed last night on the NBA TNT postgame show. The two guys doing the drafting are Shaq and Charles Barkley. Shaq picked Lilliard first because he felt Barkley would automatically take him if Kyrie had gone first. Barkley then took Faried with his first pick. Both guys were feeling that since Kyrie was in the Sunday all-star game that his minutes would be greatly reduced in the rising stars. Shaq came back with Kyrie with the 3rd pick to keep him away from Barkley's squad. It was a fun discussion, and in no way a slight to Irving. All the TNT guys are in agreement that Irving is the best player in the game. How the picks were made was just gamesmanship. I think Shaq's squad has the majority of the firepower for this one.

big game tonight for the cavs and a great test against denver...denver is 8-2 in their last 10 and the cavs are 7-3...at this point im hoping we just stick with the team we have and see how it turns out...we may end up a lottery team in the end or we may sniff the playoffs...what i dont want is grant to try and get more help for us to make a playoff push and then in turn start trading draft picks (which i doubt he will do, but he has shown the ability to trade nothing and get pretty good assets in return)
