Cleveland Browns (official thread of Masochism 2015)

They are trying to build up Manziel not throw him to the wolves. He should be feeling pretty good about himself now, but chances are the longer he stays out there the more defenses will be able to get ready for what he does and make him look bad. The Browns won't be lucky enough to fall on all his fumbles going forward. The longer they can keep McCown as the starter the better it will be for Manziel to develop. Your average Browns fan is pretty stupid and sees Manziel like he's a Ferrari that is being kept in the garage. Pet knows that starting Manziel right now will only get him a pink slip at the end of the year when the Browns are 2-14.

McCown made it a series in the first game so the odds are 50/50 that Manziel is called into action Sunday.
I do not know if I am a "average Browns fan" but it makes absolutely no sense to me to start McCown over Johnny.. Maybe he is not an NFL QB but we did use a first-round draft choice on him so what the hell you might as well find out maybe he will shock some people. If the Browns are going to go 2-14, they are going to do it with either of these QB's so they might as well let Johnny see some NFL defenses.

I would guess Pet thinks he has a better shot of doing better than 2-14 with McCown and keeping his job. It isn't like either of these clowns are going to get the job down this year. I would be shocked if Austin Davis doesn't start a game at some point this season. When was the last time the Browns started less than 3 QB's in a season?

I get letting him learn the offense, but don't we need to see if he can play or not? To see if we need to take another QB in the upcoming draft or not

McCown made it 1 series in his first game. Manziel will get more starts this year. Yes it's good to know what you have, but if they honestly thing Manziel can have a future as an NFL QB, but isn't ready yet it's better to sit him than ruin him by playing before he's ready.

Amari Cooper killllllling Joe Haden

Yea Haden is having no success against Cooper. Not bad coverage, just not effective either.

Buckeyes played better against Cooper than Haden so far.

If Joe Haden wants to claim a top 2 or 3 secondary in Cleveland, and who the hell shoots for second or third best other than a Cleveland Brown anyway, he needs to not give up 15+ catches to Cooper today.
